!! Don't do the breathing exercises in a swimming pool, before going underwater, beneath the shower, or piloting any vehicle. Always practice sitting or lying down in a safe environment. Tinnitus symptoms may appear as a result of pushing too forcefully during the breathing exercise. If this happens, take a step back in your future practice, it’s important to increase gradually, not forcefully !!

You'll hear Wim breathe alongside you, and entrancing background sounds help tune out your surroundings, allowing you to focus on nothing but your breath.

No matter how depressed, stressed, anxious, or any other way I feel, I always come back to this and feeling great afterwards. I’ve recently been feeling terribly low and just did 5 rounds of this doing in through the nose and out through the mouth. Boy does it really make me feel good, the clarity, the relief, it feels amazing. I definitely feel a lot better. To anyone out there that struggles with mental health, you’re not alone. Keep breathing with this method, we’re going to be alright.

I have a question. Are you pretty experienced in breathe work? When I get into the second and third round I feel almost as if I’m going to pass out 😂 is this pretty normal or?
@ratboysam123
@ratboysam123 3 күн бұрын
@@DaveRCollins1 Hi Dave, I’d say I’m pretty experienced. My advice to you would be to perhaps find on KZfaq the ‘slow’ Wim Hof method, I think it’s titled - Wim Hof for Beginners (not insinuating that you are a beginner) but maybe that will help if you feel this version is too much. (It has a blue thumbnail) It’s definitely normal to feel that way though, as this is essentially a form of hyperventilation. The ‘dizzy’ feeling you are experiencing is what most people look for while doing this, as it lends a hand in achieving an extremely meditative state. But I’d certainly recommend trying the slowed method to see what works best for you. A little pointer - having a full stomach when doing this makes it easier (for some reason) and sometimes just one round is enough. Best of luck, my friend
@alexpaz9700
@alexpaz9700 3 күн бұрын
@@DaveRCollins1do you have any medical conditions? As wim states if you do, you should ask your doctor if it’s okay for you to do these exercise’s but If you don’t, it is. If you start feeling that way just return to your normal breathing. There’s a beginners video that’s a bit slower and shorter. Check that one out 🙏🏽

All guys have had nights like these: Go to a party, already in a bad mood, trying to socialize, unable to really connect to anyone, get pissed of at yourself and the world, get hammered, try one more time to socialize, go home hating everything. After a night like this, before I would go into my depressed fuck-the-world routine (weed, porn, watching random shit on youtube) I did wim hof breathing. And boy, it really saved me from going to the dark place. Instead, I cried for like 2 minutes, got up again and suddenly felt how benign these issues were compared tot he fact that I’m alive and breathing. Then slept like a baby. I enjoy many different practices to find my balance like yoga and meditation, but what I feel is unique about WHM is that it works ALL THE TIME, irrespective of your current mental state. Love you Wim for teaching me this!

@@homeofjuve9191 Only one way to find out. Most doctors either laugh off the problem or throw farmaceuticals at it. I've been doing both the technique and the cold showers and it amplifies willpower by a factor I didn't think was possible. Ease into it, do the beginner method and turn the hot water down more and more each shower.

@@homeofjuve9191 anxiety is my guess! Hyperventilation can be shallow breathing, too, and it can make your chest so tense that it may feel uncomfortable or weird to breathe in. I know that feeling. Try this video for a few days and do your best. Even if there is an underlying cause at play, the anxiety definitely is not helping. Let me know if you need any ideas on relaxing/ grounding methods in your daily life, I know everybody has different ways of reliving stress so I don’t want to give unsolicited advice

@@Gibbynotaguitar I do this every morning (even if I don't feel like doing it), and I have noticed it helped a lot. I have also changed a lot of things in my life in the past year to make sure I have a balanced and healthy routine. I also have medication and therapy, which helps. But since I started the Wim Hof daily exercice, I feel empowered and much stronger. It made a huge difference.

I struggle with occasional waves of intense anxiety that can prevent me from working and living my life normally. This breathing technique is one of the best tools I've found to combat the anxiety. It always helps to clear my head and bring my awareness back to my body, instead of whatever I'm worrying about at the time. Although it has not eradicated mine completely, it never fails to help when I need to calm down. I'm glad to hear other people have found similar benefits.

I'm 18 and in the darkest place I have ever been, a darkness that I didn't think was possible before, but is very common in basically all of my family. Before my nervous breakdown, I was very academic, I worked out a lot, I was very disciplined and was trying to develop my skills and educate myself. Then this hit and I believe I now know what suffering feels like. This has been a very humbling experience and one of great teaching, teaching me to be more compassionate towards others, because you truly never know what they're going through. Establishing a solid morning routine of movement, Wim Hof breathing and a walk acts as a glue holding my life together. Every day is difficult, but reading everyone else's experiences gives me hope that such suffering is not forever and happiness is possible again. Thank you Wim and thank you to everyone in the comments, what a community. Anyone reading this, I'm wishing you the best ❤

My boyfriend's kids have started doing this with me, ages 8 and 11, and they love it. I did the beginner video with them first and they did great on their first go. It wasn't long before the younger one asked if we could do this video, which has longer breath holds. And thru out the day, they just let out these lines that Hof says as he's guiding the session, it's hilarious. Out of nowhere one will start "if you need" and the other one joins in "to breathe before I give the cue, that's ok!" Thank you, Wim Hof, for making this so easy and enjoyable and accessible. All the love, all the power.

I just did hid breathing method for the 1rst time today. I won't lie it freaked me out..I got all tingly and thought I would pass out. I was starting to have a panic attack but kept on and finished. Curious to see what his recommendations will do for me.
@nalviscoming1476
@nalviscoming1476 3 жыл бұрын
@@heatherwoodberry5217 the reason for this is because the wim hof breathing is a form of hyperventilation, it will leave you feeling dizzy and tingly because it lowers co2 levels in your blood while lowering oxygen saturation, co2 levels are responsible for letting you know that your oxygen is running low, and hyperventilation tricks you into thinking you have lots of oxygen as you are breathing frequently, so your co2 levels are suppressed. Do not try swimming or breath holds after this, you will pass out without knowing, your panic response won’t kick in and the only thing you will only feel so much as the dizzying feeling.
