The Mursaat Mystery has easily been the most intriguing strory threat so far to me. And i have said for years Now that it's highly unlikely, that they are extinct.

Wonderful video! I've not been this hyped for a release since Heart of Thorns. I feel like the devs have a huge opportunity in Janthir Wilds to bring back some intriguing characters that have been missing from the story for a few years. Anise's presence could lead to shenanigans with the Mesmer Collective, Krytan politics, or even Lyssa (super unlikely but I would flip out). There are so many cool possibilities the story could go in. Fingers crossed they deliver in August.

On the 'all about the saving the world' I have wanted to see vignettes of Orr long after the cleansing where the undead are somewhat receded as a setting for even just a momentary meeting as part of another story. We save places but never escape and see the areas *after* we have preserved them.

Hi Herald! Loving your videos which I only discovered recently. I have to say how impressive it is that this was a stream of consciousness video from you. You are very well articulated and I love seeing creators like you bringin the lore of this game to light. I only started with GW2, never delved into GW1 I was too young at that point, so videos like these with links to previous stories that I might have only heard of but never delved deeper into is very helpful

I remember way back SOTO there was so much hype around the demons like Kanaxai, Deimos, etc but everything went so disappointing after that.

I want more than anything for this story to be smaller in scope, but really well paced.

I really appreciate Livia and her story arc.

With exploring Janthir, something that strikes me is the particular everlasting harvesting tools that came with preordering: the eldritch tools. A lot of the harvesting tools are themed to story/what's going on in the world, and I can't help but be reminded of the Eidolons (them big floaty kraken bois) from Prophecies and their connection to the Seers, Mursaat, and Titans. I'm excited to go to the birth place of the White Mantle! Also, Braham can take an indefinite sabbatical. Doesn't matter which story it is, he's just... Not great. On the other hand, anything SOTO character related (especially Isgarren) and/or Canach I'm stoked for.

I'd like to see Braham revived, not as a youth but as a wise soul tempered by being at one with a Dragon. He was a Chosen one all along, and Janthir Wilds is his kind of territory. I could see him eventually replacing Knut White Bear as leader, therefore sent by Knut as an emissary to the Lowland Kodan. Caithe is a given from the footage, a bit of a wild card as too why, other than she could find no comfort in the grove anymore. Countess Anise and Livia makes sense.

when I saw the eye of janthir in eparchs room, my mind started SPINNING. Im very excited and hopeful about the next story, great video, Im enjoying the theorizing about the Mursaat, sine GW has such vast lore, this could be really good.

If livia will be there i hope that they will bring her amazing character from gw1 back. I was in shock how different she was in season 3. I didn't eve recognized her.

Stream of consciousness? You do that so well, given I wouldn't have guessed! I wonder how our homestead will be relevant in future expansions if the expansions are based in distant lands? I'd love for us to have a way to expand the homestead into a small village (hamlet) with NPCs (farmers, crafters, traders, etc) we can interact with.. like, a mini resource-producing system. I guess having a carrot farmer/farm producing 50 carrots a day/week (as a random example of many options) will impact economy, but.. I dunno, I'd love to have more than just a homestead to "run". And that other game with housing, YES, do a video! I love the housing concept, and although me finding time for anything besides GW2 is unlikely, I'm still open to temptation!

I think it would be cool if the wayfinder ends up going through an ascension like in the first guild wars

What about E? The last time we heard about E was during Season 3. Now that we have more lore connected to the White Mantle and the Mursaat is E coming back? Are we finally going to meet E? Anet I have questions... lol

I wonder if we will see Aurene again. Do you think it's possible that Isgarren might know where the five remaining gods have gone? we had our encounter with balthy, but remember he had Lyssa's mirror...how and where did he get that? did he get it from Lyssa herself, or was it something she just left behind in the mysts when they left, and he just happened to find it?

I'm always impressed when I see videos like this. Even though I've tried, I just can't connect to the story and characters of GW2. The reason I'm impressed is because videos like this tend to draw me in, whereas the game itself doesn't succeed at that.

Just now noticed while watching/listening to your vid that the lil teaser to Anise coming back in JW, her outfit is slightly tweaked....which means we might finally get her version of the outfit in gemstore xD

I would love it if they didnt tie in everything into the most recent ideas. Not a fan of Abaddon being a Mursaat or Kryptis, if anything i think it would be significantly more interesting to find out that he was from one of the lesser races, perhaps the Krait

I just want Taimi and Aurene back. I loved them. I wish we could get Blish back somehow too!! I have a GW2 playlist I fall asleep to, and I always try to doze off before I hear Blish's Sorrow. It's so pretty but so sad

Great video! I wish the story was more coherent for SOHO. So much was just handwaived or random mentions with no detail. Like the Mursaat connection to Nayos.

the Mursaat ... if they come back, they have to be deadly and unforgiving. if you can beat up a Mursaat on your own, that must be a kind of single player raid .. everything else would not feel right

My guess for the mini exps "saga" is a build up maybe for the come back of the gods, somehow. Some of your ideas are nice but idk if anet can pursue them. This because many things was already said (many times) in the plot. In S3 we know Lazarus as the last Mursaat and with his death the tyrian Eye of Janthir dies. Mabon, is a Mursaat BUT as ascended wizard he is not "tecnically a mursaat anymore" or a mortal being like the others, by the way himself talk about the Eye from the s3 searching him before the Lazarus death. Also is said in some paper that the mursaat were exiled from Nayos. But how and when is not never explained. SO my point on the Eye inside the throne room is a easter egg for the story for the Janthir plotline.Indicating a connection with the region area. A plot with Titans involved. So... maybe place the eye there was just a sign of the old glory of the mursaat in their own world. Or maybe they are alive outthere. But we want really see for the third time the "we are not dead totally" situation? Idk if we will see more Kyrptis in the future but for me is not a wise move, bring back the worst plot ever of the franchise as new story for the second exp in a row. Titans involved bring back Abaddon as powerful entity, but we forgot a point, he can't "come back". Abaddon IS kormir now, she, like aurene, absorbed another magical being and the abaddon magic now live inside the kormir, as she said in GW1 "I'm Kormir but also much more". Balthazar is dead, Joko too but them now are part of Aurene and her magic, they can't come back but they are part of her being. So, for me is more... smart think about something else, in pof we see the realm of Kormir fall about itself for her leaving. My guess (in this case is that) the realm is totally fallen to the corruption again and we will not have a big smart bad at the end but like a monster factory of titan without a master. IF they need to follow a good plot point, the weird behaviour about Lyssa from Pof Eod and other things in game can be a good build up to follow. Ending thing, the Seer story is WELL explained in the Sidony collection from Soto. We know now even the seer from GW1 and the story of all the race... so i dont think is time for a more deep dive into that.

I think us seeing Kashmeer and Jory is unlikely since Anise is there in person. That shows how important this is since she's there. Jenna is also present, so it makes additional sense that Anise has followed. Braham will also be there 100% as there's a screenshot that shows him being there (the same screenshot that shows Jenna) as a bodyguard to the emissary of the Norns. I think that Taimi has a 0% chance of being there since she really has nothing to do with the Asura anymore, she spends her time in Cantha with Joon developing new tech and medical tech.¨ Canach also wants to be as far away from Anise as possible so the chances of him being there are low to none.

This could just be me, but I feel Peitha's design (as well as other major Kryptis characters) share a resemblance (particularly in head and arm shape) to the Exalted in Tarir. There are also hints scattered through lore tablets and books that Exalted have some connections to the Forgotten (who once shared knowledge with the Murssat, but were later at war with them). So I think it would not be such a leap to suggest that perhaps the Murasaat are infact related to the Kryptis and/or have a strong relationship with them. My biggest head-canon atm is that the Mursaat and Kryptis existed in the same plane of the mists, and that they sought help from the Forgotten to try eradicate the Kyrptis. In their efforts, they failed to do so, and had to flee to Tyria. This of course, leads them to betray the Forgotten and later enslave people as false gods. Also, the two dragons you get on the pre-order shoulder pads seem to alot like the two dragons on the EoD logo. I wonder if major plot points were changed for EoD...

Return? Why? it is the Master in the Genre with PvE Open World Feeling, sPvP, massive PvP / WvW = 220+ ppl Content (all Game Modes are separately Balanced), Best Fashion, Gameplay, Mechanics, Story, COMMUNITY and much more! When I play other games, everything seems so Sterile! It's not for nothing that WoW is becoming a GW2!

story in this game is beyond bad.

The problem with gw2 story is that nobody is the bad guy anymore we see this in every game this days its called the woke safe story telling to not offend anybody the demons in gw2 should have never been given human characteristics they are the bad guys as much as a nature event like a tsunami is and its not offensive to tell this, they hunger and they ate like the locusts the same for the elder dragons now what they gonna do with this story? introduce the mursaat who wanted to return to their homeworld that was eaten by the demons and let us sing together in friendship forget all past wrongs? lmfao
