Great info, Jeff. I finally figured out the other day why "BB's box" works for major chords (in anything or in blues): by bending the 2nd string we can hit the min or maj 3rd, and the 4th is on the 1st string. Warren Haynes uses this a lot, e.g. in Soulshine. I could have watched your video a while back and saved all the trouble(!) (at 4:54) It really helps to have all these little 'tools' available, and it really helps to know _why_ things like that work (at least for me), to even recall these things when improvising. You're one of very few people the share these really valuable insights. Keep up the great instructional work!

Good stuff - conceptually sort of like guitar in hand and everything is going swell and then ‘Woah’! ....falling down the stairs head over heels as you’re still playing changing to the IV and then you recover and go back to bluesy normal. 😉

Nice instructional video, but I think the explanation of the rhythm of this diminished lick is not correct. In my opinion, the diminished lick doesn't start on a sixteenth offbeat "1e", it starts on "1 and", so on the second eighthnote of 1. If you play the lick like that, you resolve on the 1 of bar 5 of the blues with the E. The lick has 15 notes including the E. If we play sixteenth notes all the way through, we have to start at "1and" to resolve the lick on the "1" of bar 5 of the 12 bar bluesform.

A great demo of what the diminished scale notes are, but nothing in the video about putting it into practice. Needed more playing and less talking.

Probably not a good idea to start your video talking about how someone else interprets the blues… so it’s a copy of a copy? But it makes me want to listen to Robben Ford instead 😢
