Danny Carey was playing 3/8 with his right hand, triplets with his left hand while matching the 4/4 of the bass guitar with the right kick and HH on the left foot. And it's incredible to hear the 3/8 come around to line up with the 4/4 at different points every few measures. The band is pure magic.

10:30 Danny actually uses a remote/"cable" hi-hat stand. He's operating the pedal with his left foot, but it's separated from the rest of the hi-hat stand, which he positioned between his bass drums. At this part, he's playing (very light) quarter notes on the bass drum, as well as with the hi-hat. From what I've seen, when he's keeping a consistent pulse on the hi-hat like this, I _believe_ he utilizes a sort of back-and-forth rocking motion (toe to heel) with his left foot; that's why you don't see him moving his left leg very much here--because he's primarily just using his foot.

Every musician I know or have ever seen has the same look on their face when they listen to Tool! It's like we can feel how good it is.

Between the guys on Lost on Vegas and this Dude both reactions are inspiring for so many reasons. It's strange to say, but as many times as I've seen both it actually sets a good tone to my day or picks me up when it's been a rough one! The unintended consequence of just being genuine! KZfaq Emmy nominee in my book! Thank you!

To see a human being do it. Tool is exceptional for many reasons, but LIVE being the transcendence that puts them far above anything I've ever seen and heard. The studio versions, great as they are, pale in comparison.

I couldn’t convey in the right way to people when I talk about my love for TOOL but you nail it. I was at this show in Boston with my 22 year old daughter and they didn’t disappoint. This band is a MONSTER🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼

Yes indeed. First time I saw Tool was in 2001. It was hands down, one of the best concerts I have ever been to. I saw them on this current postponed tour. Tears of joy were shed it was that beautiful. No other rock band can compare to these 4 geniuses.

9:10 . Didn't catch the high hat till you pointed it out . The tabla and snare already had me floored. He's unreal.

Seen several reactions had to come back to yours...love how you pointed out the strength and power to get back in time. Not a lot pointed that out or the dynamic of having to wait after hitting so hard to get back in the pocket, every fkn time!!!

Your reactions between 12:32 and 13:05 just made my day. You simply can't stop smiling. It's such an incredible experience to watch & listen Tool, i shared the joy with you while i was watching the video. Kiss Jack for us, welcome the army little fella :)

Danny Carey is the closest thing to Neil Peart I ever saw. I have seen both, stunning in their execution. Tool has been a favorite since I first heard them.

Danny Carey gave the recently passed Neil Peart a nice mention and dedication in his Grammy acceptance speech.

Danny Carey is wayyy beyond Neil Peart in terms of skill. And there be dudes out there that are wayyyy beyond Danny Carey. It's all about context.
