John Mayer is living the golden life on the golden road. Let's be honest, he's doing what we all dreamed of doing, taking over and playing Jerry's solos on stage with the boys.

Man, it's awesome to finally see a member of the KZfaq guitar community digging into the treasure trove that is The Grateful Dead/Dead and Company. Masterful tones, musicianship and improvisation that for some reason seem to sneak right past most of the guitar folks out there. As a player, the Dead catalog changed everything for me. I hope it can do the same for other musicians looking for deeper inspiration. Thanks!

You obviously haven't heard Jerry Garcia's other projects... The acoustic band is EXTREMELY tight, also old and in the way. And Jerry and merl saunders if you like jazz. If Jerry wasn't tight he wouldn't have Tony rice, one of the best players EVER playing with him often.

Two things: One of the things I love most about this song are the fills/riffs Jerry does in the verse after he sings... they are weird and and somewhat disjointed and I LOVE THEM... would love to hear you break them down. Mayer doesn't do it like Jerry... Which is fine! #2, You mentioned in your Morning Dew vid that you loved the footage... Dude, watch the Grateful Dead movie... You. Must. Watch. It. In general I absolutely love your unfettered enthusiasm for this music and the player's work on these tunes. This music is the music of my life...
