Amazing right hand control, seemingly effortless. IMO, Govan is to be admired not only for his musical prowess and dexterity, but also his willingness to educate. Only true masters have the self confidence to instruct others on how they do the magic they do.

Some people just don't know how gifted they are! When he says it's really not that difficult. I took some lessons from Paul Gilbert back before he was famous. I remember him saying to me, "It's just three notes moving up and down the neck". You can imagine the expression on my face when demonstrated 'how easy' it was! God bless their modest and humble souls.

I can play it myself. But guthrie would never compose melodies and use sweeping as good as jason does. Guthrie and Jason are my gods, but jason was better than guthrie because he was younger and mastered all guitar techniques before everyone then
@Sw33tTr3ats9 жыл бұрын
Just 'cause you haven't heard of a "better" one (as terribly unsophisticated and subjective of a term "better" implies), doesn't mean he/she doesn't exist. Though in the public's eye, few have impressed me like Guthrie as well. In terms of musicality in the guitar world, I think of John Petrucci, Jeff Beck, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Paul Gilbert to name a few. Though, everyone plays so different, I could never say anyone of them is better than another. We can all shine!

Some people think that 4 guys pushing buttons on a laptop is "art." You know of whom I speak .. Kraftwerk. I do NOT think of them as art at all. These people think that mastery of an instrument is pretentious. They prefer simpler sounds, like The Ramones. Don't misunderstand me, there's nothing at all wrong with The Ramones. But I couldn't listen to three-chord bands all day, no way. I need some wizardry too. I like listening to people like Mr. Govan.
