14:50 Literally "The view upwards doesn't end, and the view downwards doesn't end." I think this can be roughly translated as: "There are lots of people better than you, and lots of people worse than you." This is especially true if you're an intermediate level guitar player. Sure, there are lots of people who would wipe the floor with you on stage, but there are also millions of people who struggle to play all downstrokes in time to a 4/4 beat, or play the F chord. So there's no point comparing yourself to another player.

i love how you talk about the picks "dont compare" "dont worry" and the others, when we learn guitar (at least for me) i always compare myself to others and think "why i cant play like that, i wish i could do this more fast" it was really important for me to hear those things, your mom must be a incredible woman

The picking hand takes practice to get rhythmic, so true. I am learning so much from you sensi, i had many bad habits that are getting corrected one at a time. Here at 71 years old and finally learning the right way to play. Being a luthier first, i never really worried so much about playing technique now im learning to play well and its so wonderful.

Thank you so much! I practice very dry rhythm guitar exercise with a metronome but its so effective! Only use 3 notes. Root 3rd 7th or Root 7th 3rd with swing groove! So happy to hear that!

@@TomoFujitaMusic Thank you! I rely on reverbs really due to my music i make. On my little channel. Very ambient blues ish. But ive been trying to clean up as much as possible without losing the needed emotion and tails. Hehehe.

You're welcome! Music is subjective so do what you love to do! For me, I just want to improve my guitar playing everyday so I made this "No reverb" as normal thing. My amp has no reverb. But it does not mean I don't like reverb. I have a lot of reverb pedals and I love mix two reverb pedals to get my tone! I love using multiple amps too. Good job!
