I've left a lot of comments about my granddaughters loving to watch your channel and they still do. We just watched this one and they had a question that shouldn't have been funny, but had me rolling at the serious way it was asked. Keep in mind that the 7 yr old is learning all kinds of new and fun stuff from kids at school. So, thr 5 yr old looks at me with amazement in her big, blue eyes, and asked "Nanny, how does she keep from cutting off his big ol' balls with her big scissors?!!?". 😂😂😂 I fell out! Sorry if this offends anyone, but I'm still trying to stop laughing. I need a cold Dr pepper after that one. 😁😁🤯❤️❤️❤️

I love little kids and their innocence! Your granddaughter … 😳😱🤣maybe not so innocent! Give them an extra hug today! ❤

I can’t tell for sure, because the camera angle isn’t the best, but I think this is a ewe, so the “balls” are her udder. Katie doesn’t cut her “balls” because she’s had LOTS of practice shearing sheep, and she knows how to avoid hurting them.

@@Trapper_Creek_2024 yeah. The things she's learning from her sister, that the sister learns at school are becoming disturbing.
@juliestrickland77542 ай бұрын
@@susangrande8142 that's pretty much what I told her. I definitely made a point to use different words, but I just said because she's had lots of practice and is very careful and good at her job.

I sooooo much love watching you and your wife when you're out shearing. 👍❤ You're more than welcome to come to Sweden and shear my 4 "ladies". I'm still using the manual "clippers". Thankfully, they do let me handle them but, my back and arm/hand muscles are totally out of order during the following week!! I'd love to have the equipment you guys have but, can't justify the cost with only 4 sheep. Plus, I'd most likely hurt the girls and, I really don't want to do that. You guys do a WONDERFUL job and are so careful with the animals you are working with. //Solani

It’s hard for me to imagine these guys ran wild for hundreds of years without being shorn. I’ve heard of some people say that theirs will shed out if they are late on shearing, but I’ve never seen it for myself. Such a neat, ancient breed.

Mostly cause the trait the bred out of them
@quailjailss2 ай бұрын
@@quartzskull8772 maybe, but some breeders have really really really old lines of GCN’s. You’d think those would still retain some of the shedding genetics or would pop up every now and then.

If I didn't know any better, I'd say you were related to my 1st/3rd grade teacher who owned farm animals and even brought them into school once. She'd even share with us how to sheer sheep and milk a goat, and even made us green eggs (I'm 42 now and know that she couldn't get away with bringing the animals to school even in our small town anymore). Great work you're doing with these sheep, and thanks for popping up on my feed so I could see these vids. Great stuff!

These are enjoyable, however I want more! I watched several times in a row. Of course I do watch the longer ones. I like hearing the clippers and the sheep in the background. A question I have is what is the adjustment to the clippers before you really got started? Does it have to do with perhaps having new blade to tighten? Or do different fleeces get different adjustments on the blades?

I have so many questions: What do you do when its not shaving season? Could you show us where all that wool goes? How’s it packed? Would you go to a factory? That would be awesome!!!
