Hey Chad and Eric. I'm from the state of NJ. Recently last Monday, a plethora of NJ gun owners came to Trenton, our state capitol, to rally against the new smorgasbord of gun control legislation. It was a pretty good event even though counter protests occurred in the latter half of our political demonstration. I believe, if I'm not mistaken, they passed many of the new state bills. One of those bills regulating the amount of ammo in a weapon from 15 rounds down to 10. I remember you said if worse comes to worse we should always "vote with our feet". I don't think I can live in NJ any longer. I love my state. It has NYC to the north and the Philadelphia area to the west, fantastic food and restaurants, extraordinary beaches and shore towns, and other things. But the downsides is the taxes within the state, anti gun laws, and economic mobility to survive unless you work for either local, state, our federal government jobs. I'm willing to take that step to move out of here, but what about the people that still want to live here? At what point does all of our political fighting for our rights to keep and bear arms become victorious?

Don't let that shit happen to you guys. That's exactly what happens down here in Brazil. On top of all regulations that makes impossible for us to get a firearm, the biggest one beign the famous "justifying why u want a gun", they tax firearms and ammo to infinity. To the point that a pistol here costs between 5k to 13k. And a box with 50 ammo goes for like 300. We even have like blister packages with 10 ammo, bacause of those prices. And consider that minimum wage here in Brazil is 900 bucks. DON'T LET THAT SHIT HAPPEN THERE. United you are stronger !

I live in Illinois. I moved out of Crook county. Thank God. They have a Tax where they charge 5 cents per center fire round and 1 to 2 cents per rim fire. Plus a $25 on top of taxes on any fire arms It's ridiculous!!!! They are in general taxing people out of Illinois as well. I plan on uprooting with in 5 years.

That house bill is complete and utter bullshit. Instead of writing up sensible legislation for gun control, like mental health evaluations, they want to limit our access to firearms via funds. I live in rural Ohio and there are people around here who hunt to supplement their food budget, how the hell will it limit gun violence by making it more costly for someone to put food on their table. Another example of Congress wanting to punish poor people for being poor because let's me honest they are the ones who will be hurt by this, not to mention how this will affect a huge industry.

I have had it with the Government clowns

I went on there registered and made my voice heard and I'm joining the GOA today as a lifetime member!

It is all about money. A few years back, right before a Gun show here, a bill was passed for a $5 charge to the state of PA for every gun bought. Allegedly, it was to cover the paperwork involved. The paper work was a small form with almost nothing on it. The Dealers at the show did not know what to do. Some called the State Police in the capitol. The answer was "Send the money, you keep the paper work".

I'm only 15 but I'm an avid 2A supporter and was wondering if there's anyway I could help fight the anti gun laws any suggestions

Bills like this are introduced every year and in almost every state legislature. It is always some liberal nut who puts this stuff forward. They rarely get anywhere but we cannot let up the pressure on our representatives

As a resident of the Free State of Arizona, my Rep. Dr. Paul Gosar is an A+ rated member by NRA and GOA. We are working on improving out Senators (McCain is on his deathbed and Flake is retiring). If you are already an NRA member, consider joining Gun Owners of America, too. It's just $20/yr, and they are hard core defenders of the Second Amendment.

Here's something to consider. Form letters are easy to ignore. They just get thrown into a bin along with all. the other form letters. Original letters, on the other hand, have to be read. Take time to compose your own letter, and follow it up with email and phone calls. flood them the same way the anti's are, and DON'T STOP!!! Keep up the pressure.

Cook County in Illinois already has a $25 gun tax and an ammo tax (.01 tax per rimfire found and .05 per center fire round) that tax is applied prior to the Illinois sales tax so you are getting taxed on the tax. They are also trying to raise it too. And yes the $25 tax also applies to lower receivers.

I find the irony in the fact that it was introduced by a congressman from a state that sees some of the highest rates of crime related to guns and that has some of the strictest gun laws in the country. Same with California, high gun crime and strict gun laws. Shocker.

It is a slippery slope indeed when politicians start a ban like this. Take a look at the Uk as to what can happen. Before 1987 the Uk already had very strict gun laws prior to the following events with handguns and semiautomatic rifles mainly only being permitted for target and competition use at specified club ranges and then only to licensed firearm owners. In 1986, one deranged person named Michael Ryan, went on a rampage with a legally held semiautomatic pistol and 2 legally held semiautomatic rifles, killing 16 people for no apparent reason. ( known as the Hungerford massacre) The result, in just over a year was a total ban on privately held semiautomatic rifles in the uk and a restriction to the magazine capacity of shotguns ( down to a 2+1 shot) Then In 1996 another deranged male person called Thomas Hamilton went on the rampage at a school in Dunblane in Scotland with 4 legally held handguns killing 16 school children and one teacher. The knee jerk reaction from politicians was to introduce a total ban on all privately and legally held full bore handguns with the exception of single shot .22 Rimfire pistols and muzzle loading pistols, again in just over a year. Then about a year later .22 pistols were also banned. As regards the Dunblane massacre, the authorities had previously received a number of complaints regarding the conduct and unsuitable character of the killer prior to the event which was not acted upon. Had the police acted upon the information received, this person's firearms licence could have been revoked and his firearms removed, had this happened, this incident would very probably not have happened.There was an attempt to cover this fact up by the authorities. The result of these two incidents alone was that all law abiding handgun and semiautomatic rifle owners in mainland Uk lost these firearms at the stroke of a politicians pen. These bans have remained permanent! No political party in the Uk would now dare reverse this ban for fear of being blamed if such an incident were to happen again. Of course, guncrime in the Uk has gone up as criminals don't give a hoot about the law and don't subject themselves to any firearms laws!

This just makes me want to go to my local gun shop more, and buy more to help keep them open. This will drive us to support each other more
