Season 04, Episode 01, Let It Burn,
Lt. Casey, who is at the center of an undercover operation to bring down a trafficking ring run out of Nesbitt's (guest star Eric Mabius) strip club, finds himself in very dangerous territory. Meanwhile, as a result of the high turnover rate on squad, Severide gets a rude awakening when Capt. Dallas Patterson (guest star Brian White) is brought in, much to Boden's dismay. Dawson confirms her suspicions that her life is about to change forever and Jimmy Borrelli (guest star Steven R. McQueen), the new candidate, makes an unusual first impression. Elsewhere, citizens of Chicago band together to take charge of their neighborhood in protest of a drug den in their area, resulting in ramifications that severely hinder members of Firehouse 51, who are called to the scene to battle a blazing fire.

because for them to be able to stoop and be in proper position to see down there and guide her and the baby they needed space that they couldn't have had the door been shut

@@sephi3dgaming892 Plus i imagine it would signal to the second ambulance that theres something going on, whereas closed doors might give the impression the situation is under control. Though im just guessing, im no expert.

There is no way they would have launched with one paramedic with the patient flatlining, doing one-handed compressions. They should have asked a cop to drive, and work on the patient together, do the protocols of administering meds, doing proper compressions and ventilation. Also, they shouldn't have stopped compression after like 1 minute. She was a young woman with a shoulder wound. She didn't bleed out, it is most likely she collapsed due to exhaustion, thus it was not an underlying cause that certainly killed her. She had a chance.

Could have been blood loss from birth. You can loose blood really fast mentioned it in another comment. Lost 2 litres of blood when I gave birth to my son. Gone in seconds. The surgeon was really fast to stop it thank god.

As a nursing student, I agree. There is no medical accuracy here. You push after the second or third contraction, no one bothered to expel the placenta, nobody watched for postpartum bleeding. She could have easily died from postpartum hemorrhage in this scenario. If able, oxytocin should have been administered.

I could be wrong, but at least in my country you legally can not stop cpr if started until doctors take over at the hospital. It's the same for paramedics and civilians

Likely. Could be shock or blood loss. I lost 2 litres of blood within seconds of giving birth to my son. Had 3 people working with me while 3 took my son away to check on him.

I mean I'm not a paramedic or doctor, but I'm pretty sure in most scenes like these they are not supposed to push someone in the chest that quick for cpr. It's supposed to be around 100 to 120 bpm. Use Songs like "Staying Alive" (good pun tho) or "Dancing Queen" to keep the rhythm going but THAT... that way like twice the speed. Jesus...

I think the medical units didn't help her to stop bleeding. That's why she had unconscious and automatically died. Since it was a mistake, hope you guys will learn from it.

Ridicule.... On n'incite pas à pousser, surtout quand ça vient tout seul. On dégage avant tout les voies respiratoires du bébé, avant de lui mettre un respirateur. Et un bébé encore lié à la mère par le cordon ne respire pas tout de suite, c'est tout à fait normal. Et il ne pleure pas systématiquement. Lorsque le cordon est encore intact, la respiration se met en place progressivement, sans pleurs. Et l'épaule blessé d'une femme en train d'accoucher ne résiste pas comme ça.
