There are a bunch of other good ones out there too. And some are great for varying tastes. For instance, 08th MS Team is all about actual tactics and teamwork among the MS squad and none of the MS are absurdly overpowered either (not even the protagonist's "Upgrade" to his Gundam Ground Type, the Ez-8), so good tactics and teamwork is what carries the day in those fights. For something more "hammy" and hot-blooded, take a look at Mobile Fighter G Gundam. 00 Gundam is also really good. I also enjoyed SEED, though some seem to hate both SEED & SEED Destiny, but my favorite Gundam heroine (Cagalli Yula Athha) comes from the SEED universe, so that might make me a bit biased in that regard. :P You might also like the "spin-off" Gundam Build Fighters series. But, just in general, welcome to the fanbase! :) IBO actually has one of the darker and most grim Gundam universes. Also, if you enjoy strategy-RPGs, you might want to look at SD Gundam G Generation Cross Rays on Steam, it's a strategy-RPG set in the the Gundam universe and it covers the Gundam Wing, Gundam SEED/Destiny, 00 Gundam, and Iron-Blooded Orphans series, along with their various side-stories (like Iron-Blooded Orphans: Gekko, which follows a different protagonist and Gundam in Argi Mirage & the Gundam Astaroth). It also lets you create custom pilots and even import and use your own music for their "themes" when the attack an enemy in battle (for instance, I use "The Maker's Ruin" from FF XIV for my strongest custom pilot).

@@chun_8070 No problem. :) If you're a fan of the "Giant Mecha" genre as a whole, you may want to also take a look at the Super Robot Wars games & anime (the games pretty regularly even consist of huge crossovers, like having Gundam, Evangelion, Cross Ange, Getter Robo, Great Mazinger, etc. all present in the same game), for instance there's a pretty good anime adaptation of one of the GBA games called Super Robot Wars OGs: The Inspectors. SRW is home to some of my favorite mecha designs and characters ever (Ibis Douglas in particular is one of my all-time favorite female characters in SRW, along with her transformable mecha, the Astelion). It also has some....somewhat "silly" mecha that still somehow manage to be awesome at the same time, like the two Fairlions....which are literal *BALLERINA MECHS* and I am not joking about that either. Their "ultimate" attack, Royal Heartbreaker literally involves one or both Fairlions literally *DANCING* during the attack! But it also has some badass mecha as well, such as the Dygengar, Aussenseiter, Granzon, Rein Weisritter, & the Alteisen Riese.

Why do you think Mika responded with the line "Look who's talking!"? He pointed his hypocrisy out instantly. Mika isn't the sort to mince words, if there's something you can be called out on, you can bet that Mika will be the one to do it. Out of the 3 Gjallarhorn officers here, Crank is by far the most honorable and sympathetic (though, in Ein's defense, he does actually mean well, he's just too innocent, naive, and idealistic at this point that it literally blinds him to his own hypocrisy).

@@gamester512 yeah out of the three orlis was the one that was taking out the mobile workers with his graze the other two couldn't do much cause he was given command of the mission. Its kind of sad though for both crank and ein cause crank was actually a pretty cool guy and ein while hell bent on revenge is actually a pretty damn good mobile suit pilot as seen when he fought in gaileos schwalve graze, he had control of the fight and was actually pretty smart the weak link that messed him up though was gaileo.

@@MusicFan752 True. I honestly view Crank as though he were the stereotypical "ideal" of a Samurai or Knight. He has a very distinct and strong sense of honor, and even in the face of death his only real concern was for his men to not take any of the blame for his own actions. It's a shame that he had to die, he could have made for an interesting "rival" of sorts....or possibly even a mentor for Mika & the other kids, had he lived long enough for McGillis to have taken over part of Gjallarhorn. Crank would very much count as a tragic/sympathetic villain, as he was never truly evil, he was just a soldier trying to do his duty in as honorable a manner as possible. But that's what makes Gundam such a great franchise, it gives you sympathetic characters on both side of the current series' War. SEED for instance had characters like the entire Zala Team, Andrew Waltfeld, etc. While G Gundam had an obvious tragic/sympathetic villain in Master Asia. And 00 Gundam had the likes of Louise Halevy & Anew Returner. SPOILERS: Hell, I honestly wouldn't even consider McGillis himself to be "evil" either (I'd give *THAT* distinction to characters like Iok Kujan & Rustal Elion), he stooped to lows that he definitely deserved to be called out on (such as what he did to Carta, even if she deserved to pay for what happened to Biscuit, she didn't deserve to get sent to her death by the very man she was in love with! And Gaelio deserved even less suffering than what he had to endure, as even Gaelio had good intentions, he was a bit too misguided and idealistic for his own good, but he still meant well), but his end goals were decidedly well-intentioned. And all of that is what helps point out what I see as the overall "message" of the Gundam series: that war is hell, and no matter the reasons for the war, there will always be genuinely good people fighting and dying on opposite sides.

I'm not into 40k and the like, but I have heard of a game called Gamma Wolves that is designed to be played with Gunpla in mind. I heard about it through a video by Milennial Model Mayhem where he was painting a Gouf Custom like a mini and attaching it to a base to be used for the game.

I honestly love how much more demonic looking Barbatos looks compared to other main protagonist Gundams. Its claw-like hands, long torso, how the head looks more like horns than a warrior helmet, how its legs are elongated with claw like feet. It definitely makes Barbatos stand out a lot more compared to other main protag Gundams

I don’t get how some people like him. He was like Julietta, but worse. She at least by the latter part of season two was genuinely trying to understand tekkadan and her and their place in the world.

A half Martian member of Gjallarhorn who got to see their corruption first hand slowly but surely turning away from the organization his mentor/father figure die for. But he never learned or try to empathize with his enemies, even Mika who didn't care who he killed realized that his enemies have their reasons for fighting and respected them. Ein just saw a monster where there wasn't one.
