@@daniellawisham3796 Haiti left France in 1804, and when this hurricane hit we gave them millions of dollars and the government stole it and Haiti’s now the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere since 1824 is how long they’ve been independent and they’ve had horrible leaders ever since
@daniellawisham3796
@daniellawisham3796 3 жыл бұрын
@@ronniebishop2496 Yes, Haiti has had some horrible leaders who have been pocketing the country's money. As I understood it, the money that was collected for the earthquake, not even 30% went to the government. Most of the money went directly in the hands of NGOs who spent most of it on their own overheads. Some of the money also went to some private foundation and that was the end of it. Part of Haiti's problems have always been a group of the private sectors who has monopolized the market where they are the only ones who can buy and resell. They overcharged the government for work not done or incomplete and for services not rendered. They don't pay taxes. They brought guns into the country. They armed gangs to do their dirty jobs. As far as you saying the people don't do anything and don't understand anything; I don't think that is an accurate statement. If one doesn't understand the political system in Haiti, the geopolitic of the region, is hard to make a true assessment other than to speculate

Haiti has been an oligarchy since shortly after the assassination of Dessalines in October 1806. In January 1807, de-factor president Alexandre Petion and senator Alexis Beaubrun Ardouin created NOT a democratic republic but rather an oligarchy that endures till today in Haiti. To end this oligarchy, four events ought to be taken place in Haiti : 1. The Organization of Apolitical State Generals 2. Devise A Nationwide Social Contract 3. Frame An endogenous constitution and 4. Capitalize Haiti's Economy with Haitian Diaspora Remittances. The last step is where my proposal comes in.

One time I heard fireworks outside my bedroom window, then I hear like 30 cop sirens and see on the news, the next day, 2 men got shot outside my window. I don't live there any more and from what I've learned, is that It's never just fireworks.
