Prasar Bharati Central Archives brings to you A nostalgic Doordarshan Program which showcase the entire journey of actor and director Guru Dutt on his birth anniversary.
Guru Dutt was one of the greatest icons of commercial Indian cinema. Although he made less than fifty films, they are believed to be the best to come from Bollywood's Golden Age, known both for their ability to reach out to the common man and for their artistic and lyrical content, and they went on to become trend-setters that have influenced Bollywood ever since.

गुरुदत्त साहब को देखकर आज के ये बिना काम के सुपरस्टारो पर तरस आता है असली सुपरस्टार तो गुरुदत्त थे जिन्हे इतनी समझ थी सिनेमा की। एक जबरदस्त आदमी थे गुरुदत्त साहब। उस वक्त के लोग अपनी जिम्मेदारियां समझते थे समाज को पथभ्रष्ट नही करते थे और 1980-90 के बाद के हीरो हीरोइन ने ऐसा रायता फैलाया सिनेमा व कला के नाम पर की आज तक नही समेटा जा रहा है

The Director Guru Dutta who was much ahead of his time. One failure of his epic film Kagana ke Phool made him very pessimist towards socty. Ultimately he himself became victim, due to the domestic issues of his own marriage.

Dont think so. If u read about him, you will see he had problems like depression. Those days there was not much awareness. So people thought he was irritating and moody. This is my understanding

Instead of using "mamuli bank clerk", you could use "ek aam bank clerk". Using "mamuli" for any person or job is very rude. No job is mamuli if the person is working hard and honestly to fulfill his family needs and dreams. Don't label people as "mamuli" or "great" on the basis of just one aspect.

I heard before they were building new house so their old house was broken down so temporarily he was living in city for movie shooting but Geeta chose to live with her parents because she said school are better there
