Holding the phone with one hand is more stable, and less tiring as the phone rests in the palm of the hand, elbow down. Rather than horizontally which requires elbows up with the phone turned on the side, held on the edges by the fingertips. Inexperienced smartphone users can only guess whether the designers actually set up the camera to film horizontally since it's clearly more comfortable (and stable) one-handed. There's no indication if it even makes a difference on the display until it's on the computer. Gus would need to be a talent to do multiple takes at that point. My question is: Is there a phone with an option to film horizontally from the upright position?

Well, I do it just for the sport of seeing how long it takes for someone to whine about it. It's like shooting fish in a vertical barrel.

bigwhey I find it more likely that I'll touch the phone with my palm or meat of my thumb when one-handing it sideways. The leverage needed to leave the screen visible means you have to hold on to one end or spread your fingers out like some branching tree, causing more strain on the fingers which falters during longer recordings. The thin sides of the newest Samsung phones make it more likely to be dropped by slipping away from, or falling between your fingers (and stopping the recording) as you have to squeeze harder to hold it up. I haven't found it easier at all to do as you mention. Either way, I don't think I can continue to be all scholarly debating phone recordings techniques, that's merely been my experience so far.

Or she just thought it was so funny she had a hard time gathering herself to assert her authority. Not your dog, not your issue lol. I have 2 cats and they are very well trained, but on occasion animals will do what animals will do and sometimes you just have to laugh it off.

***** There's a difference between having an untrained animal and being an authoritarian douche. And it's petty to assume just because the dog wasn't listening that it's untrained. She was recording because it was funny, it doesn't have to be more complicated then that. Some people need to just remove that pinecone up their asshole. Maybe THEN they could lighten up.
