Exactly and its not just NY. I get paid yearly with 2 part time jobs half what my father has to pay in northern New Jerseys property taxes alone. The interstate polls which are like the only way into his neighborhood coming from down south have gone up from $11 when I was younger to $22 per toll entrey. Two meals at a burger king in NJ costs over $30. He is considering moving soon if things dont change in the next year or two. They push spending bills to help low class and the lower middle class people get more benefits and pay but the way they are doing it also raise taxes and costs of everyday goods. If you get paid more it doesnt matter if everything costs more or the difference gets taken out of your taxes regardless. They are only creating the illusion of a better spending plan to get your support. I miss certain aspects of living up north but there is no way I could afford it. Taylor Ham in New Jersey I think I prefered over bacon at times. It isnt a matter of whether or not your rich that you move. It is a matter or not if you understand costs are skyrocketing and the average cost of living are going through the roof. Im sure there are plenty of rich people who would rather not spend as much so they can stay rich longer. Not to mention something never talked about is how wealthier middle class families pay for more generally in taxes due to the size of their property or their income tax is larger or other factors. Those summer homes still have to be paid for on top of your normal residence all year long. That includes heating, plumbing and all the rest of the expenses. The vast difference people make is still limited by the increase in taxes they pay. Thats why I say if middle class families didnt have to pay extra costs like taxes, insurance, food, heating, ...etc and kept all the money they recieved from working all their life, they would be millionairs by the time they are like 50. The absolute millionairs/billionairs that have thousands to waste here and there are not affected the same way. They can pay almost any cost so it doesnt matter to them as much what the taxes are. So when you raise the costs so middle class families cannot hardly afford it anymore it is a major issue. Things cost wayyy to much. Then there is the single parenthood issue making your families net gain smaller than others paid the same amount but with two parents they are recieving it twice as much. Thats gotta make it harder to live too. Thats how I see it.
