Ok, most electric systems are far less complicated than the heavier hydraulic power steering units with that said, why mess with it when you got a good thing going?

Lots of replies waiting, I'm almost at this point in my LSRX8, and would like some info.

I have just removed all electrics from my rack. The issue with yours is that you have left the eletric worm drive setup in there. So you’re steering is going to feel the same as a faulty or disconnected rack.

What is your ultimate weight goal for the car?

Ive found that the 04 steering racks can short out when flat spotting or under extreme load and don't exactly feel safe racing it, how is it handling without power steering, can i daily it that way?

Depowered racks are usually fine on a track or general driving. It's slower speed stuff that becomes more difficult like driving around a parking lot/paddock or tight turns in autocross. How much weight total did this remove?

One problem with removing power steering is all the extra effort that will add a lot of fatigue over time. Is that little bit of weight reduction worth all the extra effort while driving. I have an 87 Fiero GT and it never had power steering. I actually pulled a bunch of muscles in my right shoulder during a hard corner. Now I'm looking to convert to power steering. I do like all the feedback I get through the steering wheel as it helps me feel the limits of traction and what the car is doing. However my painful shoulder is not appreciating that at all. 😂 Lol
