I heard of Kwakwani but not the remoteness. I thought by water the only way to get there. The bauxite mine was opened in 1942. Is it still there? The Drone footage was definitely "mind-blowing", vast savannahs. I really enjoy this video. Happy belated Birthday "Slim". Wishing you good health and a successful life with your family.

The mine was nationalised 1974 from Reynolds Mine (US). I was there. Burnham came by plane. The bauxite mine failed from then on. Noel Foster and Henry Fitt were the pilots from the mine. Henry Fitt went down over the bush and was never seen again. Noel Foster had to leave in the clothes he stood up in and ended up in Morrinsville, NZ. Even back in 1974 it was accesible by land but only in a Landrover.

First time i am seeing Kwakwani. Belated happy 29th birthday to Slim. She still looks 21 ? I know people used to do that route by boat 🚢 embarking at NA up the Berbice River. Maybe in the not too distant future they will tarmac the road so it will make commuting easier and quicker. Keep posting. Many thanks.

Happy Birthday Slim. 🥂🍾🎂Hope you had a great day. It’s so nice to see you guys having a good time. Never been there. I think I got near Ituni but wherever I was it was a forested area just bush with creeks and huts for outdoor camping.. cutie pie looks so cute napping in the backseat.
