Just off the coast of South America, one of the largest crude oil reserves is bubbling beneath the Atlantic seafloor. It's a veritable treasure trove of potential wealth and economic greatness. But who is the owner of such a massive oil field? Well, it’s a country you most likely haven’t ever heard of before.

All Guyanese everywhere must pray gor unity and prosperity to grace Guyana. We must put our own first. Remove corruption from the highest office downwards. Keep the crime rate to zero. Get the people to utilize the vacant lands for agriculture. We can produce our own foods. Build houses and hospitals for the lower class. Gradually one accomplish after another, we will achieve better. I long to return to my country Guyana. But there must be improvement made in all I've mentioned.

History is relevant. Because Venezuela was the CIA capital of South America, the oil potential of Guyana, known in the 60s, was put off until the USA had beef with Venezuela. The timing was great, too. Timing was great too. Like every oil producing company, government corrutibility was at its highest then.

Reading the history of Venezuela, Venezuela has the city of Cumana as the firstborn of the Continent, which says that before the English arrived in Guyana we already existed as a Spanish Province and then as a Nation. We liberated not only our territories but also liberated 5 nations further. Your video is a provocation and you spread biased news out of context. Our constitution guarantees territorial integrity and if it is not this government, another one in the future will be in charge of enforcing it. English Guyana has disputes not only with Venezuela but also with its neighbor Suriname to the southeast of the country in an area called the Tigris

You expect to get rich overnight? The government is doing the right thing, i.e., developing the country's infracture, by building roads, bridges, 12 new hospitals, etc. They are also diversifying the economy by investing in aquaculture (fish and shrimp farming), sheep farming, soya and other crops that can easily be grown in Guyana. You cannot expect overnight change, but if you live in Guyana, you would definitely notice the change in standard of living for most Guyanese. The country is progressing nicely under the current government.

Neither fishy nor fake. Geography. Whether or not there are significant oil fields off the coasts of Suriname or French Guiana, this large field was discovered in Guyana's coastal territory. As someone already pointed out, Suriname has oil fields though not as extensive. Since French Guiana is part of the country of France, it would probably fall primarily upon the French to explore further there if desired. I'm happy for Guyana!

With all of this oil, when the last drop is drained, a particular section of Guyana's population will remain poor, all because of their perceived political affiliation. I know that my comment will cause a furor by some, but it's a fact.

@@amazonwarrior-wf7klBlack strategy the world over is to play the victim role and cry like a spoilt child to extract as much as they can. Just ignore them.

My concern is the military, not just for today but for many days going forward. What is happening with this ass...h a leader in Venezuela who cannot manage his country's economy properly and wants two-thirds of Guyana, even if resolved now could happen in the future. Presently, I hate to even look at the man, who has not put forward the looming threat that Venezuela is preparing to invade Guyana. You have forty miles of the Essequibo River to defend from people/troops from crossing, what strategies are being developed to stop this. Then there is Brazil's border with Venezuela, will Brazil allow Venezuela to have its troops move through Brazil towards Guyana.

It's funny every broadcast boosts and highlights Guyana 🇬🇾 oil nobody is talking about how the Guyanese people in this country are poor. Only the high and powerful benefits and the other countries the oil supports Guyana 🇬🇾 is Still Poor. Blah blah blah
Will Guyana's oil wealth bring prosperity or turmoil?
