So glad you are out of Modesto! I live Southeast of Modesto on 48 acres. It is so hot in the summer though you will have humidity to deal with . At least we usually cool off at night. I also have 18+ acres on the coast 6 hours Northwest of here. Hence the name of my channel that I am just starting Two Homesteads. I am busy moving between the two homesteads with a lot of interruptions for babysitting for two of my daughters. Anyone who gets out of the Central Valley deserves kudos. That is just wonderful that Amanda's parents bought the place next door. Absolutely wonderful. Things will go so much faster with more people to help. Many hands make light work. God has been good to you.

BTW as a fellow nerd, I can tell you good places to take classes at low prices. Not sure where you are in east TN but Healthstar Physicians is an excellent Christian health care group their big facilities are in Morristown and they have satellite clinics in small towns all around East Tennessee. They are really really nice people and the healthcare is high-quality. I can say that as a nurse trained in California which I think the nursing training there is the best in the country so I tend to be critical of other states healthcare but I’ve never had a bad doctor from Healthstar. Congratulations and good luck on everything with your new home. BTW You have great habits for gourmet wild mushrooms. Get the Audubon Guide to Wild Mushrooms. And the KZfaq channel Learn Your Land has lots of good videos on identifying edible mushrooms. He is up north of you but it’s still good info for IDing the mushrooms.

I am crying... So happy for you. But you have no idea how lovely your message at the end is for me to hear just now. In January I left NJ and moved in with my sister in NC so I could search for property in East TN. Nothing at all has gone right and I've only just begun to feel the heartbreak of not getting property. My needs are so much more modest than yours...really just want my chickens, bees and maybe a cow for myself. Anyway, I think I'll probably be replaying the end of this episode many times in the coming months as I try to find my place.
