We bought a 61-acre farm in South Central Missouri, and we're so excited to show you around. Originally owned by a close friend of the family (who sold it quite a few years ago), it changed hands, eventually went into foreclosure, and was abandoned. Listen to the amazing back story of how we acquired the farm, dig into a little history of the farm, and take a tour with us of the abandoned farmhouse (which we plan to restore), the land, and a few of the outbuildings. I did the same thing in 1982. 107 acres abandoned/ repo old dairy farm. It takes a lot of elbow grease, but what a great journey! I can look back with a sense of pride and satisfaction. I wish you the best of luck!

Congratulations on your new farm and hopefully it won't be too hard to get it all done. So very sorry about the loss of your dad. I was born and raised on a dairy farm and lived there for 46 years even when I was married. Dud not move to town until my dad passed away and myself and my kids moved to town. Nice to have your father watching over you! I live in Tennessee.. There is nothing like living out in the country away from alot of city life.. I think your dad would be proud that you did what he suggested! Hope 2021 brings you joy and happiness! :)

Ps some advice.. When doing drywall it is much easier to stagger your drywall when hanging.. Drywall is a work of art.. Must be done just so or your gonna be able to see all that when you paint it.. Suggest maybe watching some videos on hanging and finishing drywall.. Make things much easier for ya.. If you guys are doing it yourself.. And if yall hired someone to do that ( fire them lol ) Just trying to help.. We redo homes everyday... Your gonna be really spent mentally by the time your done! But I promise you its gonna be worth it in the end.. If you have any questions about anything Just ask.. We do everything! lol .. Pointers to make your job easy if you like..

Wow Congrats! I am so happy for you that you were able to purchase the farm! I can feel your happiness when watching this video! I am also from SW Missouri, born and raised in Joplin but we lived in town! I have very fond memories of going to visit my Aunt and Uncle with my Grandparents who had a farm in Wheaton Mo. My brother and I would play in the loft of their haybarn when visiting! My brother of course would always take his BB Gun with him (we were very young so no real guns were allowed lol) Anyway I would follow my brother all around their acreage while he tried to stir up some wild game lol My Aunt was a awesome cook and canner, her pickles were awesome and they pretty much lived off the fat of their land with their garden, raising cattle etc. I just subscribed to your channel as I just happened to run across it and I am so excited to see what ya'll do with your farm! So sorry about the passing of your Dad but I know he is so proud of you and is watching over you as you start this new adventure! ♥🥰

Unfortunately, we had to saw off the old tree because it had rotted out inside and was bound to fall on our garage eventually. Its close proximity to the house also meant that the roots infiltrating our concrete later on could cause problems.

Would be interesting to find original blueprints/plans and do as much restoration as possible. Removing all newer paneling , refinish wood floors restore any porches..

Yes. Right now we’re working hard to extend the garage so we can get into that for as long as it takes to restore the house. Our goal is to stay debt free on the house restoration so it may take some time.
