Dmitry Bivol made his fifth successful defense of the WBA light heavyweight title against Joe Smith Jr, winning via unanimous decision.
Bivol extends his undefeated record to 16-0 while Smith drops to 24-3, and loses his second fight since recording back-to-back wins over Andzej Fonfara and Bernard Hopkins in 2016.
All three judges ruled in favour of Bivol 118-110, 119-109 and 119-109.

His power is really underrated in my opinion. If you watch his earlier fights he does get a lot of knockouts, but now he kind of does little jumps with the punches and is always moving with them, he never plants his feet really so that’s why he doesn’t get knockouts anymore. I guess he’s more suited for speed and technique.

Joe Smith stunned Bivol with glancing overhand when ref was near,will not see that typed lax from him anymore. Beterbiev compact with feet not as good as Smith even.This fight will mimic Canelo vs Bivol but Bivol MUST be consistent.
