✅ I propose to recap the best moments of this fight and see my review of this confrontation. А round-by-round analysis.
WBA Light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol (13-0, 11 KOs) defeats Sullivan Barrera (21-2, 14 KOs) by TKO in the 12th round at the Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The official time of the stoppage was 1:41 of round 12.
Bivol was in complete control of the bout when a monster right hand on the temple dropped the Cuban-born fighter mid way through the final round. Barrera was determined to beat the count, but referee Harvey Dock deemed Barrera was unable to continue and waived the bout off.
There was a large disparity in punches landed as Bivol connected on 243 total punches of 778 thrown to Barrera’s 75 landed and 606 thrown according to Compubox. The singular difference maker in terms of stats appears to be the jab as Bivol landed 97 to only 10 landed by Barrera.

Very true, his sheer volume, accuracy, and consistency seem hard for classier or more dynamic punching boxers to work against. He gets hit, he learns and adjusts mid-fight, and tries not to make the same mistakes.

Dimitri Bivol is in no doubt a future hall of famer. Dimitri has been beating boxing’s toughest competition they can throw at the strong consistent Russian fighter. He’s an old school 15 round fighter. There’s no doubt he could go 15 rounds a fight.

The scariest assets of Bivol are his supreme distancing and maintainance of tempo. He is so accurate with the 1-2 which sucks for every inside fighter that tries to close the distance. Furthermore, he can take a punch; is rarely shooked and blow continiously even after being hit.

The other guy's defense broke down. He allowed bivol to keep hitting him in the face without covering. No side movements. That was due to fatigue. Great fight though

I’d argue as well as fatigue that it’s partly down to his past trainer Abel Sanchez who had Barrera in insane condition however much like Golovkin he has poor defence against supreme boxers and have to rely on conditioning and chin which both have in bundles however Sanchez focuses mainly on strength, conditioning and attack similar to Freddie Roaches style of coaching. Not to take anything away from Bivol however the guy is an absolute machine and awesome fighter for whom only time or distractions will conquer.

Canelo had been suggested to stay at the 168 lb division and might as well fight other opponents but he decided to do it his way instead and we all know how that ended. I think he may be able to stop Bivol in 10 rounds. Bivol would lose the battle of exchanges with Benevidez in the later rounds.

Vivol is not spectacular nor has a signature move! He is just simple basic principles but boy does he have discipline! He is clean and efficient! No waste of power just amazing reflexes plus he packs power on those Fist of The North Star! I like Vivol! He is the real deal!

I think he's ready for championship fights, undisputed chase...he's got the talent ,congrats, good technical fighter with a chin to match, kind of like golovkin but a bit less punching power ...
