We have a bit of a nightmare decision this week as I have no real clarity on the key Liverpool assets I wanted for the double gameweek next week, and I need to buy one player into my team this week to avoid burning a transfer.
My FPL advice is to always try to consider as many different strategies, tactics, tips & tool usage from a diverse range of experienced FPL managers before making each decision during the fantasy premier league season. There are many gameweeks to play and many a gameweek to be won by a unique technique or strategy from a plethora of options put forward by considered, technical managers.

Interesting take. I won't be leaning into double Liverpool defence, that's for sure. I need Liverpool to keep conceding like they have been doing currently at 186k. My transfer would be none in the video, and just Botman out if I had this team.

Yeah Liverpool’s defiance hasn’t been very resolute of late, but as soon as Alison and TAA make it back into the starting lineup I think it’ll improve, Robertson too if he can get a start as he’s a far superior defender than Tsimikas. Botman out looks to be the obvious move, but I really want Virgil in that slot for next week otherwise I’ll be naked on the Liverpool defensive coverage which looks to be the best shout for a double clean on paper, especially if all the aforementioned players are starting. Nice rank heading into the run in 💪

Great video. We are in a same spot for few reasons. I also had few bad GW's and turned it around in GW32 with almost same score as you. I also had double Newcastle defense.

Thanks! 🙏 Yeah, the Newcastle double clean sheet was clutch last week, but they've got much tougher opposition this week and I'm not thrilled with my defensive options. Hopefully you're better set up. 😄

Given, having played all my chips already, I may be biased in my advice, but nonetheless I'd encourage as little tinkering as possible for the run-in. I'm 29k, heading home with: Neto, Dubravka (Saliba - Porro gw35), Gusto, Gabriel, Kilman, Taylor Salah, Son, Saka, Palmer, Foden Haaland, Semenyo, (Darwin - Isak gw35)

I’m not quite sure what you mean by tinkering, do you mean going too far away from the template? Ah, so there are a few managers out there about to tackle the fixture swing without a wildcard. Solid team you got there, pretty well setup to cover the double in GW34 and catching the Chelsea/Spurs double in GW35. 💪
@ClydeBickford
@ClydeBickford Ай бұрын
@@GKneeIssYT yeah exactly, meant deviating too much from the template in search of useless doublers etc. I'm not even keen on more than 2 Spurs & 2 Chelsea for gw35, as all other options are either not as good or redundant. What I've learned over the past few seasons is that my own tinkering in the last 6 gw's usually costs me substantial rank, and always seems to backfire, hence I made the decision to get rid of my chips early, to keep a solid team in place for the run-in.

Hey mate, sorry I didn’t get back to this comment. I’m in agreement with you, I’m questioning how much I invest into Spurs & Chelsea. I mention your thoughts in my video this week when I discuss this very dilemma.

Well Steve. After wildcarding a number of weeks ago, I've owned VVD for some time now and he has been a huge disappointment. Kelleher has been very poor and, for as long as he continues in goal, Liverpool are no longer a team to consider in terms of their defence. Personally feel they have flattered to deceive of late and recent results are highlighting some underlying problems. So I am going into gw34 with 9 doublers (3 Arsenal & 2 Liverpool) With no WC the other 6 players will be players who double later on (like Foden, Isak, Palmer & Son). I basically have to bench Palmer & Son and plan for gw37. In your situation, you've got 3 transfers to punt on whoever before wildcarding. So focusing on gw34 players makes sense. I would hold onto Son. Spurs have been poor lately - another side that have underwhelmed lately, but I'm holding Son myself and playing him this weekend. For me, making a gk or def transfer and rolling makes sense. Personally, I am thinking a Palace def might be a worthwhile punt. Munoz? Even Sa or Henderson could be worth a look.

Kelleher in net has definitely made a difference, Alison is an almost impossible keeper to replace. He should be back in net in the next couple of games, if not this weekend then maybe the 2nd Atalanta match, and this will vastly improve their chances to clean. Bradley too, although easy on the eye in attack and defensive challenges, has been chucked in the deep end needing to learn the system. That's a lot of pressure for a 20 year old. Then there's Tsimikas who's been playing, he's god a couple of errors in him. And Virgil too has looked laboured, sometimes allowing his man a lot more space than he should be, perhaps he's been so worried about looking after the newbies at the back that he's been distracted, I could be clutching at straws here though. So yes indeed, flattered to deceive for some weeks now, but I suspect it’ll change with their first choice starters back in the starting lineup. Navigating this fixture swing without a wildcard is pretty difficult and sacrifices will need to be made, but you might find you’re forced into considering some single gameweek players that end up being very lowly owned and who could end up outscoring the more template doubling options. Yeah I’m leaning towards Turner to Henderson and benching him if I don’t get any news on Alison starting, that’ll at least allow me Virgil next week. Doubling up on the Liverpool defence would have been very differential though and if they cleaned twice it'd be a decent rank gain.

Great video as always, i wanted to know your thoughts on Havertz in the arsenal attacking squad. Do you kindly think he is essential and scores more points in this week and the double?
@GKneeIssYT
@GKneeIssYT Ай бұрын
Thanks mate. 🙏 I like the idea of jumping on the Arsenal attack for a differential spot, hence I went with Odegaard, but Havertz is quite an interesting differential as I doubt he will be owned very heavily over the next 2 gameweeks. Havertz might have a little competition from Jesus though and if Havertz is prioritised for the Champions League then he could cop a random benching. If you’re happy with that risk then I think he’s actually a pretty decent roll of the dice to try and gain rank. 🎲

Hey Steve! Great video, even with the mid-vid price changes. 😉 Agree that you are in a tough spot. Am also finding it confusing to balance some bang average dgw34 teams alongside some much better single game week fixtures. 🤔 In your case, personally I would go Botman to Munoz in planning for the DGW. Pretty attacking and likes to hang around the box. Decent DGW and could get you a few points, as a hammers fan I can tell you that palace always seem to show up against us. Then I'd save that second transfer to optimise your dgw34 in case of injuries etc. If you are really keen to do a second move this week imo the weakest link in your starting XI is Solanke and he could be downgraded to create some funds (Pedro? Wood? Alvarez if you have massive kahunas). Risky before a DGW though. Personally would stay well away from the Liverpool defence. Two clean sheets in last 12 fixtures with some plum fixtures is pretty poor value. Thinking of a Haaland (if he's confirmed to start) or Son captaincy this week as Mo just seems a bit off of late. Hard one to pick. Not sure what to do with my own team so pondering a punt on Havertz to keep up his patch of form, but will wait for the pressers first. Good luck this week, keep up the good work. 78
@GKneeIssYT
@GKneeIssYT Ай бұрын
Haha, thanks mate! 🙏 Balance is exactly right, I’m more inclined to prioritise an excellent single gameweek player over a bang average or worse doubler, the key is all about where we draw the line. Botman to Munoz would rule me out of Virgil, and although you’re right in that Liverpool’s defence has been poor value, with Alison back in net and Trent back on the pitch, not to mention Robertson too if he starts starting, I think we’ll find their defence will improve. And they have one of the best doubles on paper for GW34 so I think they warrant prioritising. Even though I was discussing 2 transfer options in the video, I actually only want to spend 1 transfer this week and make 2 in GW34 as I'll be buying Palace players and they have a poor fixture on paper this week. Unless I get news that Alison is starting tonight, I think I’m going to end up buying Henderson and bench him this weekend, and then buy Virgil & Eze next week. Looking at the Luton defensive lineup after the press conferences, they are riddled with injuries and if Haaland starts he could go huge this weekend. I may end up making an audible on the captaincy and switch to him depending on what news comes out. Havertz has actually surprised me, he’s been playing that number 9 position very well of late. Quite an interesting differential, but I'd probably be a bit worried about Jesus stealing some minutes. Now just watch Havertz smash it and Odegaard getting benched 😅 Good luck for the gameweek mate!

Decided to roll as I planned and finished with 68, up to 79K now. This week plan to do Virgil to Uodige (planning for the doubles) and Saka to Foden/Gordon (still undecided between both) and fh 34, bb 37

Very nice, sitting in a strong position for the run in mate! 💪 Oh wow, you’re planning to sell Virgil and I’m stressing out about buying him, I guess that goes to show the difference in the FH34 strategy! Selling Saka is scary given his form, ownership and opponent this week, that’s a brave move mate. 🙈 Are you worried about Foden’s minutes at all or are you happy to play him off the bench if he’s rotated around the Champions League?

I think MacAllister is being overlooked by quite a few, very likely to start both games and should be more advanced with Endo back.

He’s definitely nailed in that Liverpool squad, and could get forward a bit more often. I don’t know how many chances he’s likely to get though, so for me it feels like a bit of a long shot. However, if Liverpool manage to keep 2 cleans in GW34 his base would be 6 points which is not to be scoffed at, he could even outscore Diaz/Jota/Darwin with that if they all blank and rotate.
