Well, if you managed to come out in the positive from a -8 then that is pretty well done in one week. Gvardiol though, if he was on the cards for you, must’ve been a painful 27 points to watch go by. 🙈 Avoiding the very slight risk of rotation and potentially nervy City affair to jump on Salah with pens, potentially playing his last game in the premier league, with what will probably be free reign to have a go given they can’t come 2nd or 4th is the best roll of the dice I can see. 🎲 If Saka plays he could do very well, however if he is actually injured, having an 8.8m asset sitting on the bench for the final day of the season won’t help the chances for a green in the final gameweek. For example, if both Akanji & Saka miss their fixtures entirely, it would make more sense to transfer Saka as he’s almost double the price. Tough spot.

There are a lot of managers sitting clumped together in those rank tiers, each point you score more than the manager next to you is 5,700 places, so you can shift up the ranks in big enough jumps i.e. 9 points is a 50K rank jump. So, it’s worth playing for. Good luck for the last roll of the dice mate.

I think any Spurs defender is a decent enough shout for the last 2 gameweeks as both Burnley and Sheffield United will struggle to score. Romero has been getting into some outrageous positions lately too, so he could pop up with a rare goal. Gusto only got 10 mins last week, so he probably won’t start the first game in the double, but he’s probably got a good shot at starting that 2nd fixture and playing 60 mins or so. So I don’t think it’s worth selling him for a minus 4 and would probably gamble on playing him given there aren't any other standout options.

Oof, a 50k red. 🙈 Ouch. 🤕Yeah I wouldn’t recommend going against Haaland this weekend, Fulham and Spurs are there for the taking and I’m sure Pep will want to work on the goal difference. Assuming both Walker and Gvardiol start both fixtures, and I think they’re both firmly first choice, the only way Gvardiol will beat Walker is through attacking returns. Unfortunately, who gets forward more will depend on who Pep plays in front of them on the wing. It’s usually only one of them that gets forward, and it feels like it’s been Gvardiol recently, but it could just as easily be Walker. And unfortunately, I still haven’t figured out how Pep decides his team, so it’s a bit of a gamble. I don’t think you need to worry about overall rank though, Walker will cover most of Gvardiol’s points and might even outscore him, but if it’s to block someone in your mini league then I can understand the move. I hope that helps decide between the two options. Very nice BB score 👏💪Super unlucky that Haaland AND Palmer both missed out, they could’ve put an extra 20 points on an already outrageous score. 😍

Ouch, that’s a bit of a ruthless red mate. 💀 Commiserations. KDB, wow, 5 goals and no returns, just one of those games huh. 🙈 With the captaincy we’re always trying to choose a player from a team who’s likely to score the most goals, so you nailed that as Chelsea were the only other team to score 5, but that’s pretty rough for KDB to get nothing mate. The FPL gods are cruel. That is a bit of a pickle you’ve got going on there. My thoughts on Jackson are that, yes he hauled last week, but I still think he’s a bang average finisher, made worse when he doesn’t, shall we say, keep his head in the game 😤. But, Chelsea are putting some pretty decent attacks together, and if he continues getting gifted with tap-ins then he will still score points. West Ham did make it pretty easy though! Pedro is more of a gamble on whether Brighton can string enough attacks together or not, and if they do, I think Pedro's finishing is more likely to hit the mark. Geez, out of the frying pan huh. 🎲 If you’re looking to go against Haaland for captaincy this week, although I wouldn’t recommend it given how poor Spurs defence is at the moment, I'd be looking at Isak or Palmer. Isak has the battle wounded Brighton with Van Hecke, Estupinan & Lamptey all out and then the abysmal defending of United. Palmer though has Brighton as well, but his other fixture is Nottingham Forest which I see shipping a few. Palmer gets the extra point for the goal and definitely has penalties, whereas I think Isak still has pens, but I’m only guessing given his miss at the weekend.

Good shout at finding a cheaper option, I didn’t actually think of Webster to be fair. And haha, I wouldn’t go so far as to say that I liked Van Hecke, he was simply the best of a bad bunch of choices for the bench boost this week which was the only reason I bought him on my wildcard. Plus, he was cheap enough to allow me some additional premium options. But, with the amount of injuries Brighton are carrying in their backline and the tough opponents that I think will each score twice this weekend, I think Webster is just as likely to get a 2-3 pointer. And although that 4.2m price tag would provide an additional 0.1m buffer over Veltman, I think I’d prefer to gamble on a Palace clean sheet with Richards at 3.9m away at Wolves and have and have the additional 0.3m in flexibility next week.

It's only 2 points behind Haaland when I TC’d him. Keeping Saka worked out extremely well and sitting pretty for Bournemouth this week too! 👏💪Both KDB and Son will be sought after in GW37, even if Son blanks this weekend as I’ve gambled on, the Burnley fixture will be too good to turn down for many.

@GKneeIssYT sage advice Steve. I decided not to make any moves. Been punished on too many occasions for replacing good players with good players. This has been the season for standing your ground rather than chasing points and I've certainly enjoyed some uncharacteristic good fortune over the past few gameweeks!

I don’t think Son has been playing particularly bad, he’s just been isolated. It seems to me he’s a bit of a victim of his own pedigree in that if he doesn’t generate something out of nothing he’s seen to be not performing. Son’s best attributes are all about movement, playing off teammates and exploding into space with one-twos, or running with the ball at defenders who are scrambling back from a counter attack. But he’s not really a Doku who, in controlled possession facing a deep block or structured defence, will aim to take on a defender one on one and beat them, which is kind of what is being expected of Son given the isolation and lack of passing options. Those Son memories you’re reminiscing on were from a pre-Postecoglou era with a different Spurs structure and personnel, and although there's a chance we may get an end to end game this weekend, I think the breakdown of link up play in the Spurs midfield has been evident for some weeks now and Liverpool will simply have too much for them in that area of the pitch. Liverpool though, have been failing to impress across the front 3, and across the backline as well to a certain extent, but they have been dominating the middle of the park. You can see this by how often they're able to get the ball through to the front 3 and how well they recover possession in the centre 3rd of the park. I think this alone will limit Son’s involvement in the game as Spurs will probably find it hard to get out of their defensive shape with their midfield probably losing the ball too often. Salah has been the only reliable finisher in the team for a while now and even he misses quite a few chances, but when he goes through a rough patch of finishing it really shows. Diaz, Nunez & Gakpo haven't been pulling their weight in terms of goals, and Jota has been out for large parts of the season who was probably their 2nd best finisher. I think Liverpool will dominate the game, but the scoreline will depend on who has their shooting boots on. Yeap there were quite a few captaincy options this week given the favourable fixtures on paper, did you end up on Haaland or did you roll the dice with the armband?

Thanks mate! 🙏 I’ve got a lot riding on KDB, hopefully he outscores Bruno and some! 🤞 I think the trickiness of the wildcard was in recognizing that there’s no easy cleans and all the picks therefore look unappealing. I sold TAA this morning upon hearing the confirmation that Porro looks good, I also sold Gusto as ligament injuries can be lengthy and have put Cucurella in his place. These two final moves left me exact funds to go Burn to Trippier. But as a result, I’m now having to hold Haaland so I won't be able to gamble on Alvarez if we find that Haaland is still out this weekend, at which point I'll get Pedro in off the bench which I'm actually kind of hoping for weirdly. Ah Jackson Nunez 🙈 He is very much a 'I hope he avoids yellows and flukes a couple of goals' type of pick. Pedro is a much better footballer, and comes with pens. A slight chance of rotation yes, but I think he’s got a very good shot at playing all 4 remaining fixtures from kickoff. Plus, I simply enjoy watching Pedro play. If I buy Jackson and end up seeing the errors start to mount, continued poor attempts to finish and yellow cards for dissent, it will be a, shall we say, relatively infuriating few fixtures of viewing. Especially considering that's exactly what I'm expecting! Just watch him go and uncharacteristically smash it over the final 4 gameweeks and ruin my season 😅 Not all United fans are swerving United, but yes, many of us are. I like to try and get as many of them into my team as I can 😂. Virgil has been a rough own for a few managers, I actually think he's been at fault for a few goals recently. So yeah, I think you're right, it’s a good time to jump the Liverpool ship, something’s a bit off and there are much more intriguing options about. Yeah the Darwin dodge worked pretty well, let's see if I get smacked by Jackson or not 🤣😅. Walker is a decent shout and not one I've seen talked about much. I don’t really like any of the defensive options, this gameweek or GW37, so they’re all a bit of a punt. Hence, I’m trying to focus on attacking options. To be honest, I haven't struggled owning Gusto over the lengthy spell I've held him for which was way back in GW19 on my wildcard, perhaps his price point was easy enough to bench. I think Petrovic and Vicario are probably the best BB keeper pairing, Ederson could be included too if you are happy to invest a City spot in net. They're all a bit of a punt, I don't see many cleans out there!

I mentioned Jackson’s suspension risk in my earlier video this week before Chelsea played, but not in this video, I only mentioned that he’s a yellow card magnet. Jackson is pretty much guaranteed 2 starts yes, but I think Pedro is pretty nailed too. Yes he’s got one less fixture, but if Jackson continues with his poor finishing I think Pedro has a decent shot at outscoring him. Plus, this is really my bench spot anyway, so it’s actually my 5th midfielder that I’m putting up against Jackson this week.

Going against Jackson was the catalyst for a relatively differential wildcard. I’m reading conflicting messages about Gusto, so I’m holding onto hope until at least the press conferences. 🤞 The reason I’ve ended up with Petrovic/Vicario is because I want Vicario for GW37 & GW38 (BUR, shu) and if I drop Petrovic I’m not going to be buying a different Chelsea player as I’ve ruled them all out. I get it though, it feels a bit weird to bench a doubler, but I think Petrovic has the best shot at cleans in GW37 so I’m simply buying him for that. I don't really like any of the doubling keeper options for this week or GW37, so it's all a punt really. I might even flip a coin to see who plays this week. Hopefully Sanchez doesn’t snipe Petrovic’s spot, but that's not enough of a reason for me to avoid him. If I get burned I get burned and I’ll reassess at that point. United aren't just a little rubbish, they have conceded 2 goals from SHU, 3 from COV, 30 shots per game from LIV, CHE, BRE and 20 shots from BOU. That's some tally from the last 6 matches... 🙈

Watching that City game made me push the eject button on Salah, just watch him turn it around for the final 4 gameweeks and punish all of us late wildcarders who abandon him 😅. I released my wildcard team video today, it’s got a couple of caveats pending injury news but mostly all locked in and relatively differential. I’ve got TAA in at the moment (might be Porro come deadline), KDB & Foden, a plan for Trippier and no Jackson. Quite a different wildcard to where I started really. 😂 Chelsea & Spurs are a bit trappy, but I don’t see any decent alternatives so I’m punting on the extra fixtures. Son is in yes, but he’s in for cover, not because Spurs are playing particularly well. Son only needs one or two shots though, so I’m happy to hold him. I think the key players that aren’t from Chelsea/Spurs that you need to decide on whether you’re going to own or not are Isak, Gordon, Trippier, Foden, KDB.

​@@slavicdude1016 I’m sure there will be single gameweek players that will do better than double gameweekers, probably even better than some of the popular picks. For example, I can see someone like Watkins continuing to return while other popular picks like Jackson, Hojlund and Pedro could easily disappoint. I’m not sure what to expect from Chelsea either, but I think they’ve been more consistently threatening compared to say Spurs. I’m in agreement, I think Isak and Gordon will probably outscore Jackson and Maddison, unless of course if Wilson starts taking significant minutes off Isak, but I think this is probably less likely. Wilson is 32 and has been injured for 10 weeks now, so I’m pretty sure Howe will be prioritising Isak given he’s young and going to be the future main man.

Feel like son is a better option than salah and would like to gamble on spurs rather than liverpool. Meanwhile I dont think pep will start Haaland next game which gives me one gw to keep solanke and mateta before selling solanke again for haaland for the double gameweek. Also i have foden for a long time now (7-8 gameweeks now) so I am kind of protected if city decide to score 5 goals...again...

Tough choices. If the only way you can fund Isak & Jackson is through selling Salah for a hit, and you think KDB starts this gameweek and are pretty sure he’s going to continue starting for the rest of the matches, then I think this is a hit worth taking. Fair warning though, going against Salah could totally backfire. I don’t think I’d buy Porro for a hit, especially not for Saliba who could easily outscore Porro this week. Maybe delay that move until GW37?

Hahahahaha, yes, Jackson's finishing has definitely been all over the place this season. 🙈 It seems to fluctuate with his emotions. Interesting team. If you have Vicario & Petrovic you’ll have to bench a doubler this gameweek which I’m not sure you’re happy with or not? However, If I end up with Vicario in my squad I’m not even sure I’ll play him this week though, so perhaps this is by design. I’m not going to be owning Dalot, too many shots being conceded and United are not cohesively attacking so Dalot’s attacking threat is super limited. Trippier is a huge differential shout if he’s fit, and I might use some Salah money there. Pretty solid team overall!

​ @YGOWales I didn’t catch the FA Cup match, but I’m not surprised that he had an off day. Jackson’s biggest issue is the top 3 inches, if he can keep his emotions in check he could swing back to playing some decent football, but he will probably flip flop about as he loses his temper while his football, and the teams cohesion, will suffer as a result. But with the number of fixtures available, I think it’s too much of a gamble to go against him in the hopes that he doesn’t click at all for the remainder of the matches. He's got it in the locker, surely he can keep himself calm and focussed for a couple of fixtures right? I did briefly contemplate Pedro when I was thinking I might go against Jackson, but I haven’t watched much of Brighton lately so I’m flying a bit blind there. Hojlund has no service, and I think Alvarez is the most likely City attacker to be rotated with Bernardo Silva / Kovacic. This is also why I’ve kind of landed at Jackson, the other options all have worrying drawbacks.

​@@GKneeIssYT I agree with everything there. It will take additional team injuries mid week to make Alvarez or Pedro more appealing. It may just be me being a bit sceptical as a Chelsea fan but the thing to watch out with Jackson is while Poch says he supports him and says he's his only fit striker he may lose patience if he puts in another poor performance vs Arsenal tonight, and Jackson might find himself playing 3 of those 5 games (week 35-36-37). It's equally possible he might not even start and opt to go more bodies in midfield instead, with one of the midfielders pushing forward.

@@YGOWales It’s pretty tough to say what Pochettino will do but we’ll be able to draw some conclusions from the team sheet against Arsenal. If Jackson is still starting up front against Arsenal despite the accumulation of yellow cards, the fact that not too long ago Poch told the media that he’d had a word with Jackson about the yellows and yet Jackson went and got a yellow for dissent in the fixture that week, getting yellow carded from the bench, and now the penalty incident, it’s quite the mountain of issues that have accumulated. So if he’s starting after all of that, I don’t think Jackson is likely to get dropped before the end of the season as it must not be something that Pochettino is worrying about. Perhaps Pochettino is really just out of options. Nkunku hasn’t played in ages, but Sterling has been available and could play. Having watched Nkunku for a couple of games once he came back from his first injury, I didn’t see anything special. And Sterling hasn’t been firing for a while. Palmer is also way more influential in midfield, so I doubt Pochettino will want to sacrifice Palmer’s link up play in order to play him up front and bench Jackson. So, does he play a misfiring Sterling, an unfit Nkunku who looked average, or an angry Jackson who’s scoring goals and assisting Palmer?

Yes you're right, Wilson could be a spanner in the works, but I think this Sheffield United fixture is worth a future transfer if Isak’s minutes become an issue. Vicario may end up in my team as I might end up holding Gusto as he's cheap and attacking, but that'll mean I’ll have to drop Petrovic and will likely own Vicario as a result of wanting a doubler. But this double for Spurs is defensively horrible and they have Udogie out and maybe Porro too, so what am I really expecting? A fluke clean sheet I guess, or maybe a penalty save? Bruno & Garnacho will probably get investment due to the immediate fixtures and because they have a double, but I’m choosing them as the best players/team to go against in order to hunt rank.
