Thank you very much! I am a Welshman in Diaspora and my own practice is focused on the Brythonic traditions. So learning more from one who lives and dwells upon Ynys Prydain touches my heart. Thank you.

I’ve been thinking of taking on the name Gwydion as a new legal name for myself. This helped me decide to do it. Thank you.

It’s so cool to learn that Wales had their own unique Pagan traditions that were unique from that of Angleland. If people aren’t talking about English pre-Christianization Paganism, they’re usually only ever talking about Gælic or Norse Paganism, but it always tickled my curiosity to learn more about the Pagan traditions of other lands all over Europe. Cause man oh man, Europe really is a continent TEEMING with Gods, don’t ya think?

Perhaps using a magic wand is Gwydion's way of using the branch of a tree and his connection to trees as an extension of his own human arm.

Im so glad i found your channel! I have always been obsessed with mythology but recently got into welsh mythology because part of my family is from wales. Gwydion is particularly intresting. Ive always felt connected to nature and trees. Also im trans so the gender concept is fascinating. I also am intrigued because i tend to overthink things so i wonder if i could call on him for balance of under and over thinking. Either way, you should be like so much more popular youre videos arel so cool.

Diolch for the video!! I just came back from visiting Wales (I’m welsh but live in England) and it inspired me to do more research into the Welsh Pantheon, since I feel called to both the welsh and the Norse pantheon. And I couldn’t agree more about doing research. It also irks me too when people just go off their own UPGs and don’t even bother looking into the history.

Thank you. Most interesting. I have more respect for Gwydion. I was always angry for his punishment of Bloudewedd.

The gender shifting of roles with Aranrhod and Gwydion you mentioned are very interesting. She not only doesn't want her kids but is hostile to them. but maybe this is a challenge. Kristoffer also mentioned some cauldron like connection with Gwydion putting Llew Llaw Gyffes in a box to transform..... So what we consider a mean act in modern times might be a form of initiation. Caer Arianrhod almost looks like a sky cauldron to me and maybe there are some lost connections between Cerridwen and Arianrhod.

I've worked with both Odin and Gwydion before. The similarities surprised me initially, but after some research, I'm not all that surprised.

Diolch Mhara. I can take on board the positive things you've said about Gwydion here, and I note indeed that he was a single-father. At the same time, I can't get out of my mind, when regarding him, what he and Gilfaethwy did to Goewin, and feel distanced to him as a result. I would have hoped that his subsequent punishment by Math (a wild story!) would have taught him respect for women (I'd like to her a trans understanding of his punishment), but his treating of Blodeuwedd as an object doesn't give me that impression. Maybe you've covered this in another video somewhere, but I'd be interested in your views.

I'll pass. Someone who says they are a nature worshiper yet defraud nature in their personal life has nothing to tell me.

Actually I think that is exactly the lesson Gwydion has for us - he's an evil little piece of shit, yet he has a ton of knowledge that could be put to good use if we could only get past our revulsion for him and figure out a way to interact with him without defiling ourselves. I'm working on it...
