GY6 SCOOTER - Fan Cover and Engine Shroud Install (PART:13)

in this video I am installing a cooling shroud set on my gy6 scooter,
tools I used (Philips screwdriver)
(8mm small socket)
3-inch socket extension
when taking off intake manifold, normally the bolt size is 8mm i have 10mm bolts holding down my intake manifold.

The rubber seal that goes around the head is missing.

I can’t get the bolts to bite onto anything. There are no threads on the shroud. What am I missing?🎉

U shaped clips with threaded holes in them,,,, thats what's holding mine together

Or your fan shrouds are missing small nuts ,, that could also stopping them from holding together

@@jrztoolzmore9991 Thanks, and also for the quick reply! Those U-shaped clips sound promising; if I can find them lol. I hope nuts are not the answer; how to keep them in place? Maybe I will drill a couple of holes and wire the shroud pieces together. I also damaged the lug that holds the exhaust at the rear. Drats.

You can use super glue to hold the nuts in place, but keep in mind, super glue dries FAST,, if you do glue use e6000 glue, that glue wo t dry fast like super glue. If you have a tap and die set, you can fix where your exhaust bolts on to the rear. Hope this helps ✌

I kept the side piece (for the time being). I removed the plastic from around the cylinder. I think it does more harm than good.

I was told when riding the scooter the wind goes into the fan and under the engine shroud to cool the motor off

@@jrztoolzmore9991 You are right to put it on it we stop the engine from over heating and damaging the piston but you need the rubber seal which you are missing if you go to rolling wrench how to install a big bore kit you will see it good luck.
