When I first saw the LG PK7 i wasn't going to review it cause i thought it looked hideous. And when I first saw the LG PK7 in person I still thought it looked very bad. But I didnt want to judge a book by its cover, so i decided to give the PK7 a chance. And sadly the PK7 just cant keep up with the either JBL Xtreme 2 or the Sony XB41.

Not even going to lie, ITS BEEN FANTASTIC FOR ME, I’ve bought it and had it for about 3 weeks and nothing is wrong, very clear at max with enchanted bass and vocals, I even use Spotify equaliser to amp everything up and turn loud on and it sound perfectly fine and is very worth the buy, the charge doesn’t bother me asking as it can last me a day I’m okay! I think it looks really really clean with the design and is a lot better than the rest

Why does this video feel like you decided its bad and pre judge it? 1; the design is great. 2; 1:54 barely any speaker has a usb out. U dont even need it. 3; im not gonna use it for videos, im gonna use it for music bruh. 4; it cant crank up volume that much as meridian tech is supposed to make it sound good. Quality over volume. I like this speaker because of its frequency range and its capability to play music lossless.

The Sony xb41 and xtreme 2 are wayyyyyy better, I personally own an xb41 and love it, the bass is deeper and more clean than the pk7, and when listening at low volumes, you can hear a hint of sub-bass, not a lot, but a lot better than the pk7. The pk7 is cool, but not cool enough. The Sony more durable in a smaller package, it sounds better and gets louder, the bass is better, and the light feature is a whole lot better, *THAT'S JUST MY OPINION NO OFFENSE*

@@malakuloushs4265 Dude, Sony is trash and JBL series are consumer-friendly speakers. They are very bright and bassy, and not at all on par with the sound imaging of the PK series. They are the easy winners when it comes to Bluetooth speakers.

Check various of it´s reviews and even if 90 percent of other channels demonstrates that JBL is beaten by other brands in some versus tests like srs xb43 vs jbl xtreme 2, he says JBL is the best no matter how crappy was the performance of the JBL.

To be honest I’ve had mine 3 years and it’s amazing for me I take mine up mountains with me and the arms really protect it and the sound is pretty amazing in my opinion!!!

I think the speaker is good, but it does make a difference the quality of the music you stream. Also I found enhanced bass and clear vocals improves the sound in most cases. You can also listen without the sound enhancements for a flatter sound, which can then be tweaked using the eq of your chosen music app. The speaker could be louder sometimes but a volume booster app works wonders here. Just be careful not to overdo it 😀 I also found the PK7 could handle orchestral music really well as the sound is nicely balanced. This speaker is £100 in the UK and I think it is good value at that price point.

I can bass boost mine to do about 36hz at around 70db which absolutely shocked me because that’s getting to levels the same as my 300watt JVC speaker

I like jbl's mesh design best so far as it's more durable than plastic at the skatepark and the carrying strap with the xtreme is so handy but I do want some party lights someday

volume isnt everything which one retains more bass at max? which one distorts less? and whick one sounds the same at max vs half volume? not jbl not sony but lg.

I ended up buying four of these for a front left and right and surround left and right setup. I actually think they're nice and has been my favorite bluetooth speakers so far, after owning maybe a couple dozen over the years--some of which are more expensive than these. I prefer my bookshelves and towers any given day, but for portables, I don't think there's no brand out there that can beat the PK7 in term of value. Meridian also did an amazing job with the DSP here. You get clarity, balance, warmth, dynamics and separation that are surprising for this kind of form factor. The firmware updates also increased the volume output and the built-in EQs do shine if you set the volume level louder. Cheers guys.

So why does the FCC statement from user Manuel for LG X-BOOM Go state word for word “This equipment should be installed and operated with minimum distance 20cm between the radiator and body.” Because of over exposure to harmful radiation. If it’s advertised as a portable Bluetooth speaker with carrying handles?

All I'm going to say is 4 years later and I'm still dragging this speaker everywhere. Sounds great, never run out of battery and it's still running like a champ and this thing is outside with me all the time. Hope I can find something this great to replace it with.

I just picked one up. The P7 and PN7 successors do not sound as good and then LG gave them bad stereo separation so the Dolby effect thing is far more pronounced when enabled, but since it is practically a mono speaker without the Dolby effect, you have to leave it on at all times for stereo sound. And even then, they still don't sound as good as the PK7. Then the newer PL7 gets beaten by both the P7 and PK7, and the XG series speakers are all huge mono speakers whose sound quality also falls short of the PK7 and P7.

it might not get as loud but the jbl and sony either loose bass at max or the mids and highs sound bad. plus the lg has meridian which it is going to sound good even at max and is equid right

Flexing does not mean that the handle bar is flimsy. Metal components and handles can flex, but does not mean it'll break as long as it's designed for that load.

Hmmm the sound from the pk7 was a lot more defined than the jbl which sounded too tinny and thin with too much on the mids. The win was the pk7 for me by ALOT 🤔

With the updated firmware the PK5 and PK7 had a better sound for about 4 db, also funny you said is not as good as the JBL when it much better clarity

Video would've been good if you actually had a decent microphone so we can hear the difference. LG's speaker just sounds quieter with enhanced bass on, meaning that your mic can't pick up bass very well.

Enhanced bass atualy by defult is set to bost all sound. You need to change it in the app to get max bass

This doesn't surprise me. I JUST bought the PK3 today and after seeing all the hyped up videos about it, I am NOT impressed. And I'm comparing it to a $22 808 Canz speaker. It's not that much louder, but yes the sound is fuller. I paid $50 at BH Photo because they have them on sale at the moment. In my opinion the PK3 speaker is worth $30 - $40. Since this is the case, I would recommend getting these speakers only IF you catch them on sale.

Do not let the battery run down to nothing on these speakers. I have 2 of these speakers black and white pk7's both hardly used both had battery run down to nothing. Both now no longer work and not able to charge, as both flash red and yellow.

i had the pk5 and i could go 300 feet+ woth no problem and meridian is still better. the pk7 doesnt loose bass at max and doesnt sound wierd at max so i think the pk7 wins. the jbl only has one transducer and the sony is bass boosted

I paid £90 GBP for this and with the upgrade via the app it's very loud. I have this in my office and don't use the lights on it. It doesn't muddle the sound up like it's opponents. The bass is good for an old boy like me but it would not be good enough for Miami bass or old school reggae.

None of these types of speakers have any bass or power compared to the lg loudr fh6 and Fj5. And they are cheaper. I got the fj5 on sale for $145 at Best Buy.

The bass likes to distort???? You may got a faulty one, my even if you use eq app with volume and bass boosters, does not distort at all!!! And by the way is the only one speaker th that works well and responds with any equalizer from any free app... Every other speaker that i tried extreme 2 and boombox included, you can't change the signature jbl sound, with any eq app tried they gets just worse... Lg has better potential.. Downside is just the battery is not that well as jbl boombox. That claims 24 h play time amd it does it even more.. pk7 22 hours claimed but no way to reach 10 hours at reasonable volume.. Hope jbl and meridian will keep their partnership, because they're doing nice stuff.. including ok75 and ok99 ... this guy seems to be against jbl anyway.. Because even from the video and from the other comments ,people loves this fancy and duty looking speaker..🔥

I bought LG PK7 XBOOM and I am extremely disappointed with it! Reasons: -1. BLUETOOTH CONNECTION UNRELIABLE. -2. MAXIMUM VOLUME IS BARELY ADEQUATE. -3. DISTORTION IN HIGH VOLUME. -4. Lots of skipping in playing song. A lot! -5. Battery life is not as it discribe in the documents! -6. Extra bass is gloomy, colored and not balanced! I don't recommend this product at all. I return my LG PK7 XBOOM.

Lets see, PK7 for around $100, versus almost $300 for the Xtreme 2?, alongside the fact that the PK7 isn't exactly terrible? Its all speculative!, as each person must decide, if Xtreme 2 is worth almost $200 more?

Thanks then i'll avoid it. Sold my Xtreme 2 for the same reason, volume is disappointing, and well the bass isn't that punchy even with the DSP disabled. Maybe i expect too much of a wireless bluetooth speaker. I might go ahead and go get the Sony XB60 or a used XB7 even though it's not wireless, the bass was just simply mindblowing.

The PK5 is better for portability but the PK7 has better sound. Just a bit fuller and deeper. Not a deal breaker but it is noticeable and the PK7 is not much more expensive now than the PK5

@@kepler666 JBL and Sony are expensive but their the brands I am happy with. LG isn't known for high quality speakers so they should reduce the price some if they want to be competitive
