So over the last few months, Sony has been refining all of their Box speakers, and now we have the all new Sony ULT Tower 10, and this thing is very impressive and it puts a big emphasis on sound pressure. But naturally we have to see how the Sony ULT Tower 10 compares to both the JBL Partybox Ultimate, JBL’s Largest Partybox ever… and the JBL Partybox 710 which has been a work horse for the last few years.

Honestly blows my mind that anyone would pick Sony over JBL personal preferences aside. JBL is just objectively better product. Sony fanboys overdosing hard on copium saying that JBL has too much bass, like EQ doesn't exist. And pretending that having worse frequency response is somewhat a good thing. Total delusion from Sony fanboys.

You will not find any serious audio youtubers that have reviewed Sony speakers in the last decade because they are garbage. Plain and simple.

JBL is King, there's no questioning that. Take a look at RTINGS and check their ranking of the best speakers. Out of 136 tested speakers PB710 was number 1. While 310 and 110 were both in the top 10. Enough said.

Listening on my PB310 and I can tell the Ultimate and PB710 bass is insane, sadly that Sony is all about highs and mids. JBL is still the best.

The way i see it is Ultimate is perfectly tuned for bass to actually pump like a PA system but also has a nice warm sound of audio, Sony is really bright and doesnt give that punch that people would like in a concert

hey! the dual jet bass booster doesn't work in indoors... I have the sony mhc v13... I played it in outside and i was shocked too.... The bass is just perfect for outside...

I don't understand why Sony has chosen this particular design of the speaker. It's literally the same 12,6 inch woofer as on the XV900 which seems very underwhelming in terms of bass. I think they would have been way better off copying JBL design, moving the exhaust port to the back while adding additional woofer. Plus they removed upward firing drivers that were present in XV900, which made quite a difference in spatial audio.

Typical Sony. They are releasing their speaker 1 year after the Ultimate and it's already 3 years outdated still using Bluetooth 5.2 They didn't even bother upgrading the woofer over xv900.

The ULT Tower sounds a little empty in bass. The Ultimate sounds better tuned, but not quite as full sounding as the ULT Tower. If loudness/PA is your thing, the ULT Tower is a good option. Otherwise, go for the Ultimate.

Watched and Listened the video with headphones and I can safely say that Sony is no match to the JBL. The whole point of such big speakers is ultimate sound and bass for outdoor and events. Sony still has work to do.

Party speakers mostly are (and should be) about bass. Deep, floor shaking bass - that's where JBL exceeds at. Sony doesn't really understand this concept and they tune all their speakers the same way regardless of their intended use. No matter if it's their home speaker or a party speaker. So again, to me entire Sony party speakers lineup are a failure from the tuning perspective. If I wanted a balanced sounding sound signature (like Sony has) I wouldn't be looking for a party speaker to begin with. I'd just rather get a hi-fi speaker, making their party speakers completely obsolete in my eyes.

I would still go with my 310 TWS with 110, they are best to listen to music inside a room, they get very loud and you can also feel the bass shaking up your furnitures.

I actually think the pb ultimate has the best sound overall. I think for the ppl who buy a sony ult tower and like it, they probably havent heard a partybox ultimate otherwise they would have buyers remorse. Bass isnt everything, but it is MOST things. The pb ultimate is def worth the extra 500$ over the sony and if you listen to both in person you will agree.

It absolutely does. Introduction to those lower frequencies make a huge difference. Since I got my 710s the songs I have listened to previously changed completely with the addition of that deep bass. It's like a whole new experience. Once you listen to 710 or the Ultimate you're not going back. Trust me.

It's all subjective. Some people may say what's the point of dramatic bass when you're missing out on the mids? JBL is so scooped in equalization for dramatic effect. Some people prefer the balance and detail that the Sony offers. Less sound fatigue with the Sony as well.

''Rest of your music is getting overpowered'' JBL pumps out the bass in their partyboxes intentionally so it sounds balanced OUTDOORS, indoors however, yes it will sound bassy most of the time and it will drown other frequencies if you don't adjust the EQ. But that also depends on what kind of music you listen to. I feel like SONY is the opposite, it sounds more balanced indoors and warmer/brighter outdoors.

710/Ultimate to me is just more flexible and better product overall in my opinion. They can be both used as a home theather addition (since they both have that deep bass for ground shaking movie scenes) and it also looks good and sounds clear when you wanna listen to music. Sony is just for music and a very specific type. If you listen to hip-hop or EDM, Sony is not for you.

I think ult 1 is for deep bass and ult 2 for upper bass and because sony doesn't go very deep ult 2 sounds better

I’m glad the Sony lacks bass but gives me an optical cable so I can hook up my tv to it when I’m having a party 😂. The definition of needing it but not having it comes in to this comparison. Having adjustable EQ’s and not using them vs not having it and complaining about not having it. You can adjust the ultimate and turn down the bass and raise the mids and highs. LAME that the bass on the sony is just punchy and doesn’t honor the music at all when it comes to low end performance. It’s like having no torque on a car just like a Honda loud but doesn’t move anything 😂

You're coping. I like Sony but it's evident that this speaker is in many ways a DOWNGRADE over their previous model. They only made it louder (which makes sense cause it's AC powered instead of battery) without much improvement in sound quality. It's really a disappointment. I expected more from Sony.

I have a pair of 710s that I purchased manufacturer refurbished for $460 each and they both arrived “new” with a 2 yr warranty. There really isn’t a better value that I feel is currently available. For the average home owner that wants a no BS stereo setup without the need for a sub, amplification, etc… it’s a no brainer. They image well enough in TWS for most and the EQ in the app lets you adjust the curve to your liking.

What are you even on about? If anyone had the edge in this comparison, it was Sony. JBL played with flat EQ with just BassBoost 1. Sony was playing with Ult2 which boosts all frequencies but mostly the bass.

Lmfao all the JBL fans just can’t except the fact that Sony is getting better of their speakers, bass is not everything my guy, don’t be such a child, everybody have their choices, talking about JBL’s advantage and Sony’s disadvantages from the previous video to here doesn’t make you become a superhero, I like the bass of the ultimate, I tried it in person, but the clarity on Sony wins over the JBL for me, it’s no longer a GTK-XB60 VS PartyBox 100 comparison… If you hate it, just pass this video…there’s really no any other reason to comment the bad about Sony against those who’re interested to maybe get one, everybody have their choices, don’t make the comment section like a war, from 2016 to 2024 it’s still same, like you guys didn’t have a job or something??

Some people loves Sony, some people loves JBL, when somebody prefer Sony, you don’t need to jumped out immediately and say JBL is the best, Sony is straight out weirdo garbage, you literally commented on all of them, I’m not liking either of these speakers company so I’m not on either sides, just feel like the JBL LOVER’s OPINION can get too annoying sometimes.

sold my partybox 710 and got dual 18s pro sub and amp setup very happy ,with that,JBLs are overhyped,you cant really hear bass after 60percent volume,Also have Sony V43D ,it sounded way punchier than 710 at max volume,This Ult tower from Sony also looks and sounds promising tbh,as from the headphones i can hear ,JBLs are no match with this one,take richness,bass etc

Exactly make that jbl brand cry because jbl is worst it sucks teufel,meridian,soundboks 4,diamondboxx,devialet,sony,samsung,LG,bose.and so many brands sound much better than jbl when it comes to bass
