I have a small umbilical hernia from weight gain over the last 17 years. I’m going to have surgery to fix it in a year or so. But I want to get back in the gym. I’m not going to lift too heavy until after surgery. I want to get my muscles going again. I’m going to buy this belt. I like that it’s supposed to go around the bellybutton where my hernia is. As I said I don’t plan on lifting really heavy and I’m going to do mostly isolation exercises and cardio. I need to get rid of a lot of my visceral fat before surgery to relieve some pressure. It’s been almost 18 years since I’ve lifted weights. I went last Monday and it’s been 8 days and I’m still a little sore lol. I’ve lost a lot of muscle but hopefully it won’t take too long to get even close to where I was. Hopefully muscle memory will help. 17 years ago on bench I was doing sets with 335 pounds. And last Monday I could only get 225 pounds up 3 times after warming up. I just wanted to see where I was at. I gotta long way to go. But I feel better than I thought I would at 42 years old.

I work at a mail sort facility and my back hurts pretty bad at the end of the week. I move 50-60 pound bags from one cart into another about 15-30 times per destination. I am wondering if a belt will help me and should I be looking for a particular kind.
