Ingredients:
Toor/arhar dal - 1 cup
Tomato
Bottle gourd
Pumpkin
Onion
Drumstick
Carrot
Mustard seeds -1/2 tsp
Dry red chilli- 3
Asafoetida -1/4 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Cooking oil -3 tbsp
For sambar Masala:
Cumin seeds -1 tbsp
Mustard seeds - 1tbsp
Coriander seeds -1 tbsp
Urad dal -1 tbsp
Chana dal - 1 tbsp
Dry coconut - 2 tbsp
Asafoetida - 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Black pepper - 1/2 tsp
Fenugreek seeds - 1/4 tsp

Hello ji your recipe is awsome however me an South Indian would like to give one suggestion ! Agar aap laste thoda goud (Jaggery) use karenge na thi Sambar mein thoda sa sweetness aatha haim which tastes awesome please try, aur has Sambar mein onions dàalne ki liye specially aate hain usko Sambar onions kahte hain please try using that which makes Sambar yummmmmmmmmmmy please yeah dono try kijiye & let me know the difference ? I had some sambar masala left(recipe from kabita's kitchen itself). So thought of making sambar again today at 10pm.Put the ingredients mentioned in this recipe...curry leaves, raw dal, salt, all masalas, little jaggery, tamarind water ,tomatoes, onions, oil n carrots in the pressure cooker along with 5 cups of water...took 6 whistles on high flame, lowered the flame and kept for 10 min....n my delicious sambar is ready :-) same taste but short cut...thought of sharing...
