Every year I come back for a fix.

When I was a freshman at UConn in 1987 my roommate was on the dorm intramural soccer team. The rest of the guys would go off to the field but he would linger behind... He would kick me out of our room and put on this song and bounce off the walls for 3-4 minutes, then sprint off to the field like a madman to catch up on time with the game.

Husker Du played the best live show I've ever seen, way back in 1984. There were only like 100 people in the crowd. It was so f'n intense and loud. For reference, their stage presence here is yacht rock by comparison. Great band.

What an great cover by an incredible band. I saw them live twice back in the '80's and they really whipped the crowd into a frenzy. They were just a few years ahead of their time, breaking up in the 80's brfore the grundge bands of the nineties came along and borrowed heavily from them.

I've heard Bob sing this song, scream this song, or some combination of both. Always sounds brilliant

Great Video! One of the greatest covers of all time. I just love the way Bob's singing turns into a roar in the end when the songs builts up to its destructive finale...in the single you can hear it better but this a great testimony of those times when being independent still meant something...

The very first growl from Bob's voice gave me shivers. What an incredible band and an inspired performance. I'm fortunate to have seen them play in Chicago.

In 1987 I was a prep cook and dishwasher at Cuisine Cuisine in Ft. Collins, Colorado listening to Husker Du on 93.3 KTCL which was the college radio station for Colorado State University. Go Rams and Go Husker Du!

Absolutely unbelievable... and Mould still rocks to this day. Every time I think I've finally "got it", and know "where he's at", I arrive at his next release only to find he's moved away, and still leading me off further into the musical underbrush... but I still love looking back at the path I've travelled following him.

Best reimagining of a Byrds song ever, bristles with power. Should be required viewing for any young band. Hüsker Dü took the European atmospherics (in Bob's guitar) and showed people like U2's the Edge that American rockers can make this kind of music too. Grant's drumming is crisp and effortless and Greg is really laying it down too. Big finish at 2:59 is pure exiliration and I dare any expert writer to try to transcribe it: life and joy, mi amigos!

takes me back to my troubled youth. tossed from school in bc, sent me to the 'peg in manitoba to live with grandma. my cousin promised me if i kept out of the priciples office for a month, he would take me to a concert. he took me (and underaged teen) to Husker Du at the Marble Arches (or was it Arms)? the raw intensity of the at feedback laced guitar still gives me goosebumps 20+ years on. my cousin, he still lives in 'peg (works for the Winnipeg City PD) thanx Gordie! Thanks. Like half the people commenting, it takes me back. The Huskers had this quality of, I don't know, earnestness, or seriousness of intent. But fun, too. And their sound...The Meatpuppets compared it to a Minneapolis blizzard.
