H2 Hummer Repairs Power Steering Pump remove & install

This video is about uninstalling and installing a power steering pump on my 2003 H2 Hummer. Though the video doesn’t capture every detail, it is intended to be helpful and informative.
First step was to remove the air breather contraption, to help gain better access to the front of the motor.
Next was removing the serpentine belt and the positive and negative cables from the battery and remote post. Disconnect all three lines from the power steering pump.
4 bolts located on the front facing of the bracket assembly need to be removed and one bracket on the lower back side of the pump attached to the block and the assembly unit can be pulled up from the engine compartment.
Use a pulley remover and remove three bolts holding the pump to the bracket assembly. After that I was ready to reassembly everything in the reverse order.
Running the pump while adding fluid help me to get the air out of the system. You can bench bleed your pump when before reinstalling the unit is another good choice.

I really would like to get specific parts numbers, but unfortunately some parts are not perfectly exact depending on year model. There is always someone that’ll blame you for things not fitting or working, So for the most part it is a good reference video to help those accomplish this task. Is Lucas PS fluid compatible with an 2006 H2? Im planning to flush mine and i couldn’t find anything! 😬

I don’t see why you couldn’t, especially after removing the old fluid. I know some vehicles require certain specific types of fluids, but you should be fine. I’m using Preston in mine atm.
