VN and TQ are the two countries with cultural traditions licht the same way from living or way of life is very similar.Currently VN and TQ are having a lot of territorial disputes so Vietnamese people very sensitive to similar sentence with China . For example example , you visit the Chinese ship to visit Ha Long bay of Vietnamese people

stay on cat'ba island, not halong ..much cheaper and less touristy

It is locked now with a barbed wired gate at the entrance point after entering the shop. You have to pay the shop owner who assists you in climbing around the gate. A bit daunting but worth the view. She charged 20,000VND (slightly less than $1.00USD) per person.

I saw many people got rejected by the old lady or the guard these days. I wonder is it even themselves not willing to take the money and let's the tourist in anymore..

You can't no longer able to climb Poet mountain by going that way anymore, years ago, some random guy set fire on that mountain(rumor) that now the government is blocking the entrance. So if u want to climb it, you have to seek for another entrance nearby (just keep asking local people). I've been all the places u visited in the video and yes, Bài Thơ(poem) mountain is the best.

I sat precisely the same spot when seven and that was 37 years ago. Back then even the local may not know the spot existed. Now backpackers roaming Halong Bay...please take care of the country and the land that raised me and appreciate it.
