I love that you opened Pokemon Colosseum for the Gamecube section of the video. This is my favorite game and finding information on how to emulate it most efficiently (especially on something like a switch) is REALLY appreciated. I'm really impressed that it doesn't run like frozen diarrhea like it usually does when emulating. I'll have to give this a shot once I get my new switch (don't want to risk getting banned before Pokemon S/V drops) Based game taste in general btw. I can tell you're one of the cool kids.

Appreciate you checking out the video! Yeah, at this point I've actually completed the game and am onto XD Gale of Darkness 😁 It ran well with little to no issues. But some mild overclocking may be required. Dolphin emulators mmj, mmjr, mmjr2 etc have made quite a bit of progress! So I imagine you won't have any issues getting it going 💪

Very exciting! If you don't want to be banned from Nintendo make sure to search how to avoid bans on KZfaq or Google. It's possible to avoid bans, but not worth the effort if you don't play online 👍👍

Homebrew def gave my 3ds and my dsi a whole new life. I stopped playing both for so long but once I put homebrew on them amazing I play them daily again. I'll probably mod my switch closer to the end of it's life. Rn I'm not too worried about it I play it a lot already and between that and my DS systems I'm pretty content rn buuuut someday hahaha thanks for the video! This is awesome

I just finished modding my new OLED switch with the HWFLY v4.1. The soldering was no joke and I have a fair amount of electronics repair experience. I'm just starting to figure out the software aspect of it.

I remember hacking my switch with a paperclip back when it was first discovered, and no CFW was really available. This is really cool, and I wish I had kept up with it. I imagine I'll hack mine when the Switch is closer to the end of its life. Great video!

I've homebrewed nearly every console I've ever owned but I haven't grabbed a pre-patched Switch, still holding out hope that the OLED will be moddable without soldering at some point. This video just made it a little harder to resist just doing it already lmao

I feel that haha! I know there's a few fb pages that have people who'd mod your OLED for a price, but I recommend getting a V1 unpatched switch and modding that one instead. That way you won't risk getting your oled banned by Nintendo.

Then a cunt ass moderator from the group banned me because I asked that question, he said I was there to troll and the price are correct. There was no damn way a modded Switch can cost $700, that's robbing people and the moderators on Facebook are defending these shady ass cunts.

I have a Day 1 switch as well and have been setting my consoles serial to a bunch of zeros using the Exosphere file. I have not been banned using this method only on my emunand partition. Not only that but I have emunand triple booting with Ubuntu Linux and Android TV on a single 512GB SD Card and it works really well!

Ooh Android TV! How do you set that up? And does it work well with 1080p netflix, YT, Disney+ and VLC, y'know those HD streaming services and VLC media player on Android TV.

@@LennyQUMFIF VLC player works and for KZfaq I use smartube instead (if you’re not sure what this is look it up online). As for Disney+, Netflix, and Prime Video I don’t use them because I have other ways of watching them (if you’ve ever used a Firestick you’ll probably know what I mean 😉) and I also have a way for getting live tv including premium channels from iptv service (although there are free ways to do this too) but if you’re trying to go the legitimate route I’m not sure if this still works but people on forums have gotten Netflix and Disney+ to work by editing the config props file to change the device fingerprint to “NVIDIA shield tv” through magisk so it allows downloads to these services legitimately. Hope this helps!

Hi, I was wondering about the 3ds games on your switch home menu. Did you download them off the free shop and they just worked? Like I’ve been trying to find 3ds cores for retroarch and have had no luck. If it’s this easy pleas let me know, thank you for reading this.

You'll have to join M4XW's discord for the best version of the 3ds core 😁👍🏽 Then I just used a forwarder to route directly to the game from my home menu

Nice! One question though - is there a lot of labour intensive work/maintenance that needs to be done once you have modded it? Do you encounter any problems since modding it that then need any complex fixes? Im tempted to mod mine but I dont want it to be a chore to maintain. Thanks!

No, it's not really given me any trouble. That's likely because this particular console is banned by Nintendo. So I don't have to go through all the hassle of spoofing dns settings, running an emuNAND, or any of that mess. Just go into it with the knowledge that you'll likely be banned by Nintendo, and no longer have access to anything from them through official channels. None of this mattered to me on this console, and I've had 0 regrets about modding it so far. I honestly don't even remember the last time I played my non-modded OLED. But I play this one every day

Question: Why would you need to back up your saves? I see that referenced a bit. Is there an issue with internal saves?

Some games like Pokemon/Zelda only allow for 1 save file. If you back up your saves you can access any of them at any time. Also, if you mod your saves you can always have backups of clean saves just in case.

Don't let that stop you! You can use normal switch firmware online, and eummc cfw offline, and set it up with incognito and a couple other tricks to block it from connecting to Nintendo's servers. I've had it for a couple years now 0 issues. Keep in mind though, if you do eummc, you 100% absolutely do not under any circumstances want to screw up and connect to Nintendo's servers on the eummc. The mismatch of system logs WILL get you banned. From my understanding it's one of the most common ways it happens. Along with nonofficial or illegal apps.

CAN SOMEONE HELP PLEASE? I cannot get online on any games. I tried on pokemon legends arceus and mario kart 8...whenever i try to go online it says "Server Communication error 2124-4618". i downloaded and installed all my games and updates from tinfoil. It works perfectly and i can access nintendo servers/eshops and my internet works perfectly (as i downloaded games from tinfoil) but i cannot go online it gives that error every time. Any advice??? I really want online on my jailbroken switch.

Are you using an emuNAND? From everything I've read about that error code you've been marked for a ban by Nintendo and its only a matter of time. Hope that's not it, and you'll update us here as you know more

I'll have to update this video soon. There have been a lot of advances with DS and 3DS emulation on the modded switch so I don't really use the android partition anymore. Unless you're needing android for something specific I'd just skip that. Definitely look into the shops and all that can be done on a modded switch. There's a lot of cool stuff

Sadly, no. The console itself is what receives the ban not your account. If you have another switch, you can log into your account as normal on that one

i been thinking of moding my switch and i only play offline never will i play online. just curious if this is gonna effect future games ill get for the switch itself i been been wanting to try this but not sure how much its gonna cost to get everything needed. (also nice video) and first time moding any console also can you try star wars battlefront 2 on the switch for ps2 ?

Cost- wise it's not bad at all. Considering you already have a PC of course, you'll only have to buy a micro SD card, RCM jig and have a USB to type C cord. It shouldn't really have any negative effect on future games because you'll always be able to update firmware, games, dlc, etc.. even if it's through unofficial channels. I'll check out battlefront, but isn't that on gamepass as well?

I got a few questions about modding my switch... so im planning on using my second switch (my original from 2017 since i now have an OLED as my main) and i was wondering, what does a ban do? I dont really care if my hacked switch is banned from online or eShop since i have my main switch for online. But could my hacked switch getting banned affect my main switch, like if they're on the same WiFi network? And also, i've wanted to do something like do some Local MK8DX races and Splatoon 3 matches (not online, Local/Lan) and do hacking in them, stuff like spamming items in Mario Kart and broken weapons on Splatoon 3, that stuff that would ban online, could this ban my main switch by joining the hacked switch's lobby and hacking with that hacked switch on the local/lan lobby?

Oh and another thing but what's the best method to run Dolphin on switch? Best performance and JoyCon compability. And N64 Too, specifically a hard game to run like Perfect Dark or Conker's bad fur day.

A ban is console specific, so it won't affect your account on another console. You can Lan no problem. A ban just stops you from using nintendo services on that console (no eshop, online play, etc..)

When you get banned by Nintendo, are they banning the console or your entire account/both? Is it recommended to remove your account before you do this or if you have a second unmodded switch your account will still be ok? Also how does this all perform docked, if at all, this looks like a crazy fun project.

So the way that the bans have always worked (thus far) is it's a console only ban. Your account is safe, and can be used on a different switch no problem. The docked mode works same as normal as well. I play a lot of emulated games in handheld and docked. I'd recommend setting up the precautions to prevent a ban, but it's not the end of the world if it inevitably does happen. I use my banned/modded switch WAY more than my non modded/OLED switch. Hope that helps

you can set up an emunand which is a copy of your switch os where you can install homebrew programs,emulators,pirated games and stuff while if you wanna play online and use nintendo's online services just boot into the regular one there are guides

How did you add retroarch to the main menu? Same with the 3ds game. I wanna be able to just boot from the home menu into certain older emulated games or homebrew apps

I had to use an NSP forwarder. Essentially you use the program to make your own NSP. It will require you to have a PC, the NSP Forwarder program, a game/rom, as well as an emulator to run said rom. Once you have those things you can make your own NSP and simply install it to your modded switch. If you modded it yourself you can always reset it back to factory. No need to send it in to nintendo or anywhere. It's only soft mods unless it's a modded OLED

I had to partition my sd card where the android part was separate. Since it's a completely separate partition you won't be able to access any other files on the other partition

Correct, this is a V1 switch. Personally I'd leave your OLED as it is, and just buy a used V1 to mod and tinker around with. The chips are pricey for the oleds and it's sketchy to solder them or have them done for yoy

I saw that android can now be run on the OLED models, but haven't actually tried it myself. If you got stuck, just wipe and start over. It's a pain, but that should sort it out

Just gotta make sure your mods are for the version you're playing, as well as merging the mods that need to be merged. It's a trial and error, but once it clicks it's so cool!

It doesn't matter if it goes to sleep. You only have to re-inject the payload if it dies. You also don't lose anything, out just switches to OFW instead of CFW. Once you inject CFW again you just pick up where you left off

I go back and forth fr 😅 I use the vita for Vita/PSP, and the Switch for basically everything else. The Odin Pro is also really good for any kind of DS, PS2, and Gamecube emulation. Too many good handhelds!

Tinfoil still works fine, but most free shops are down. I use Titz Pro for my shop and it's still up and going strong. But it requires a one time donation for lifetime access. Yeah, you can add games and programs to your homescreen by using a forwarder. Basically you have a forwarder program on your PC that can make the app. Then just install it on your switch and you're good to go

@@bandsonme Depends on what you're looking to play. I have an AYN Odin Pro (video on the channel) and a modded switch, and I play both of them regularly. I use my Odin for emulation and the Switch for modding/playing switch games.

Think it just depends on the game, the version of retroarch and the retroarch core used. I believe this was Pokémon Diamond (DS) using retroarch melonds core 1 8.9

you shouldn't have downloaded everything onto the switch's memory. Do it on a Sd card and you will not be banned!

That's not exactly true. I've known a few people who've done this and been banned. The best way is to run everything on emuNAND offline and incognito with custom DNS settings. Anything short of that will always carry a ban risk
