There's no pride to be had in cheating. Most of us work hard to improve our mechanics and the rewarding thing is watching yourself improve as a result. Great video 👍

Finally some is talking about this, most people don't believe me when I tell them I have encountered several hackers in the past 4 months, but the several clips I have saved to me xbox showing me getting headsshot 4 times in a row from 150+ meters away would beg to differ

I think the problem is the anonymous players. Literally every time I see a player cheating it’s an anonymous player.

I've ran into a team of people in duos with damage reduction and damage output cheats, and it was probably the most annoying second place ever. I was using the really good exotic revolver from cuddle, and my headshot from literally a foot away did 23 damage. Got one shot by a Grey ranger to the leg when I was full on health and shields. It's a problem.

I would like to see Epic not just ban the cheater's player account. But ban the IP address outright.

I would love to see EPIC taking matters into the big issue with certain players who are using Cronus zen for aim assist tracking I’m tired of it needs to be gone you can tell when someone has it as well.

I am one of those people who has yet to play a game and not find a hacker, no matter what game it is.

honestly, i don't understand why people even would cheat...what satisfaction does that bring? it's like when someone dances around me after they eliminate me...big deal, i lose fights here and there, i also have 100's of eliminations myself...it's like they base their own value on a game...doesn't make sense to me, i just enjoy and play for fun...obv i like to win, but it's not my entire life...

I wouldn't say that hacking in Fortnite is a problem, it has probably the least hackers in comparison with other games, played Fortnite since Season 2 C1 and maybe encountered 1-3 cheaters, if you compare Fortnite to FPS game like CS:GO, it's incredible how EAC manages to keep the game under control.

Late to the party, but oh well... The thing about this issue that bugs me, is that I believe Epic Games has the tools and information readily available to them to find these people very quickly, right now. By this, I mean the amount of raw data they accurately process just to keep track of individual accounts as we play the game, complete challenges, earn XP, and simply climb up the battle pass. I find it very hard to believe that some simple statistical analysis tools couldn't be applied to the accounts as their programs monitor/record every other bit of data while we play. "Oh look, this player has a consistent headshot ratio that's almost 90%. I wonder if something hinky is going on?" "Wow, that player regularly kills 30+ players every game. How odd?" "Goodness! That player took 400% damage, and walked it off." "Zoiks! This player one-shotted that guy who was on full health and shield, 150 metres away, with a pump shotgun!" I mean, considering the data involved with completing some of the challenges, (Detonating explosives while sliding? Running 100 metres holding a chicken, anyone?) Epic Games should have no problem applying some statistical thresholds to certain actions within the game, IMHO. An account gets above a given threshold value for multiple actions that are most commonly associated with cheating, it gets flagged for closer review by an employee. I'll admit that I am not well versed with what's involved with creating something like this, at all. But, considering how much ingame data they track just for us players to complete the challenges alone, it doesn't seem like it would be too much more work to implement and automate something like the above. Heck, rent an algorithm off KZfaq. They seem to be able to find and track the smallest infraction to their rules! And across billions of content creators, too!! Anyway, as a player that has had far too many frustrating experiences in this game that can't be explained away with just 'Get Good!', that's my opinion. And it's nice to see that Epic have at least caught and punished one of them! Kudos!!

There are days I can barely enjoy the game. I'm sick of getting aimbot by people using submachine guns from so far away that I can't even hit them with my burst fire rifle. Meanwhile they didn't miss a single shot. Jump spammers hopping up from behind things and not missing a single shot. It doesn't feel like that this is the way the game was designed to be played but whatever

I was killed by a hacker yesterday, I know this as I watched him for a couple more minutes and you could see he wasn't even aiming properly at people and still hitting them it does need to be stopped

I've noticed a bit of a rise in hacking once more this chapter, for example I was all the way across the map at Railways and some shithead at Pleasant sprays me with a rare thunder burst smg, tell me that isn't cheating or I probably just sound salty... but I'm glad to see Epic Games is properly dealing with hackers.

It's so sad , cheaters are killing this game just like battlefield , no joy anymore .

Today i played TF2 with a new account after not playing for 2 years, and yeah I heard that there where a lot of bots but I taught "It cant be that bad, their probably very bad". Nope you can not enter casual mode because 10/10 enemies are going to be a bot running sniper and instant headshoting you like a fly. I had to enter custom games to actually have an opportunity to play.

Dying second to an aimbotter is ridiculously painful, even more so to new players who struggle to get wins or a single win. I think they should get 50 vbucks for it, or something else to pay for the emotional damage (keep in mind loads of young kids play this game)

I hit someone for 132, and once they killed me they still had 100 health + 54 shield. This was not zero build, so there was no extra shield.

I missed qual and finished 2004th it was frustrating then a day after the tourney epic sent me a message in game saying congratulations and that I qualed for round 2. Almost ten people were banned for what I assume is a hacking and it’s tough because I missed out on it

Cheaters in video games should recieve the same penalties as someone who infringes copyrights, and then band permanantly, without any recourse period.

Fantastic coverage Reisshub. I think there's 2 things Epic Games could do to improve the situation. 1) have more clarity surrounding what is and isn't allowed ie recently there has been certain pros who have been caught using macros however they have been allowed to continue playing. When players are banned, customer support have next to no info on the reason why, or do not disclose anything and advise the players they are allowed to play on a new account and the circle starts again. The same goes for people caught using Zen scripts, people have been caught, publicly outed on twitter and as usual tagging sundown etc reporting it but the players are still allowed to continue playing. 2) consider making comp a "pay to enter" platform. It could be something like a flat one time entry fee of €100, with all the proceeds going to charity. This will reduce the number of people using hacks on new accounts going back into cups and ruining it for others, meanwhile long term comp players have an improved experience. Love the fact you are using your platform to share content like this, the community would also like to know when save the world will be free to play as was promised to everyone back in 2018. Thanks.

Dealing with a defeat by a hacker is almost enough to make you uninstall the game. Had a few victories robbed by a hacker, and they had the gall to do the donkey laugh and the L emote. But nothing is sweeter than discovering a hacker is trying to eliminate you, but you slap them with a uno reverse card and clap them instead. Was hiding in a bush once while I was trying to open a bottle, heard footsteps so I followed the sound, suddenly someone started shooting me in the head with an SMG. Luckily I saw them in time and domed them with a sniper rifle. Found it a little sus how not only they knew I was in the bush, but the exact position of my head. Reviewed the replay and I laughed so hard when I saw their reticle snap onto my head through terrain as they moved around and up to where I was, perfectly tracking my head through rock and trees. Watched the moment of me clapping them many times, damn that felt good👌👌👌

So far in 4 years I've only ever ran into 3 hackers never seen one in br lobbies

I've been really lucky and don't remember encountering any cheaters in my 2.8k hours of play, but man i didn't know the problem was this bad, especially in the cups and console

Personally, I’ve played this game kinda consistently for about 5 years now and I can confidently say I’ve never ran into a single hacker. Ever.

one of the funny things is that when fortnite first came out i started playing 2 years later i became top 10 in my country, then i stopped playing made a new account and when i started playing with that new account i got banned for cheating eventhough i never touched anything LOL I think at the time epic was so paranoid that any report caused an issue of imeadiate ban. So then i stopped playing until i saw OG Season return. No issue's since.

I’ve played against hackers on 3 occasions twice in solos (aimbot+wallhacks) and once in creative (Macro+Aimbot+wallhacks)

The fact I can stand in front of one player that hits zero shots then next fight I get into I get headshot quickscoped mid air, is crazy

I’ve only been hacked on once back in Season 2 of Chapter 2 with a 100% aimbotter. But then again, I never saw a purple skull or renegade raider until I switched to PC. My aim definitely looks like I hack tho.

I've always wanted to use cheats on Fortnite, but only in a custom game against my friends to mess with them

Hear me out here. If you want to play competitive, you have to pay a $10 one time to epic games. That $10 gives you a skin and the money from it goes to a fund which will fund a tournament. This way hackers can't keep making accounts and the money gets you a good skin as well as funds future tournaments.

Seeing which "pro" gets banned will be the most satisfying

I actually got killed by an aimbotter, and then that aimbotter got killed by another aimbotter, and then that aimbotter got killed by another, it was chaos

I was good mates with this guy, but unfortunately for epic, this isn't the guy they wanted to get. He was a reseller of cheats and never played competitive, he also made it his goal to deliberately sell faulty cheats to people with the intention of playing competitive so they get banned. By selecting him, epic is only stopping one of many distributors of the hacks that are common place, including one that MANY MANY t1 pros use that has been undetectable for 3+ years. He also helped me look into an OCE player called Talon who was a known aimbotter to get him banned (no use cause epic has a terrible anti-cheat). It's nice to see epic working towards taking down hackers, but they pointed the rifle at the biggest elephant in the room which was filled with nothing but air. GGs go next
