Great Storm Tips, Lisa.....Comms are really important , 2 meter Ham Radio or even a CB Radio ( most Emergency Service Agencies have dedicted Freqs. for direct communications) ...... a portable Shortwave Receiver ( know the emergency Frequencies in your area) can be very helpful and keep you informed....Lastly, a "power pack" , you can buy them at Pep Boys ( where you can "jump start" a car) , these units have different ports where you can charge your phone , computer, etc.. , they even have "built -in" compressors that can be used to inflate floatation devices....Hope this helps.....Thank you....

Thank you for the tips. :-) I shared on FB. I like to try to keep a month's worth of supplies/food, and extra cat litter boxes and litter at home, especially for my cats. I'd add cleaning supplies and garbage bags in the evac packing too.

Good video once again Lisa! Bathtub water can be used to flush the toilets if the water doesn't work after the hurricane. Buy a few LifeStraw water filters for "just in case". They are relatively inexpensive and filter out 99.9% of bacteria and parasites. Glow sticks are an easy and safe way to illuminate a room. Easy to fit into your bugout bag as well (same with LifeStraws!)...Waterproof strike anywhere matches, Bic lighters for everyone!....I could go on, but I will spare you! Here in high tax Massachusetts we get very few hurricanes so when we get one i always have a hurricane party .and never take it seriously 🥳

I lived thou Hurricane Cleo, Betsey,, David,, and a few others, I remember Cleo, cause It was the first one that I saw,, I watched the St Lucie flood My Grandparents Boathouse, also, fill the Bathtub with water for Rest room use, if you have a gas BBQ, make sure the tank is full,,,, comes in handy,besides, who dont like BBQ after a storm?
