GQ PATROL / MAVERICK LSD SHIM INSTALL - H233B DIFF

In episode, we take a short break from the Fairlane build (until we can drive it) and Throw Back to one of the first videos we recorded before we had even started the Fairlane build.
We install a 0.7mm shim in a H233B LSD in order to tighten up the diff as it previously had a tendency to Single Tyre Fire. A review of how successful off-road this is will come at a later date.

Go the archm springs and shocks got them myself but 4inch dobinson spring and 6” archm shocks good product for the money

Hello, Thanks for such detailed video. I got NP Y60, how much is the shim set in the market? And how many shima fit in it.

Once you unscrew the 3 screws can the shim go strait on top? Or does it need to go on the underside

I couldn’t say for sure to be honest. We just had a guess to be honest

If you left the adjusters on the bearing caps then you wouldn’t have to set the back lash up. Sick vid tho 🤙

It really depends on how worn you think the LSD is, and how tight you want it. The 0.7 will provide a tighter diff

Curious to know how to find what size shim to use?

In our case it was just a guess. They generally come in two sizes, a 0.55mm which from the research we did, seems to provide a factory style LSD in a bit overly worn diff, where as the 0.70mm shim is used when you are after a tighter than factory diff. I went 0.7mm because I was after a tight LSD
