@@TheZumph Yeh, well, sounds kind of lame today but, 1995 it was the hottest shit in UK as well. That stupid cheap production synth sound was coming out of every radio out there. Then again, when speaking of UK. The rave scene was spreading its wings and it was much more technical and usually better produced. I remember it being kind of underground but dnb kind of spawned out of it, that eventually conquered the world in a form of ''bass music''.

eurodance is indeed early 90ies but it got a small revival in late 90ies with Aqua,Vengaboys,Eifel65 and Bomfunk Mc's. After that it was all Dj projects that hit the chards with another kind of dance vibes like Dj Guetta, Tiësto, Van Buren ,etc...

As a DJ who was doing clubs in the 90's, this was just one of those fun little mainstream crossover tracks for a minute. I think the vibe Lex was going for was more old school club culture where you'd dress up & go out dancing. Before VIP took over the world, you just had to look like you belonged at a club to get in. That's where the cool kids went, no matter how much or little cash you had. Everyone was equal. Those were fun days

Dance/club songs rarely cross over, let alone break into the top 10 of the US Hot 100 and this one is no exception, it peaked at #11. But huge across the globe. Big radio hit for a dance song awash in a sea of grunge, Snoop Dogg, Garth Brooks.

Y’all should be the first music reaction channel to really give EDM a chance, theres so much good music in this essentially, group, of genres but they all get dismissed and written off as dubstep, dupstep is basically the heavy metal/screamo of this realm of music. Dubstep is loud, aggressive, and headache inducing. EDM(electronic dance music) can touch on that but a lot of it is more calm and melodic, which is what id recommend you check out. Maybe start with one of these: Strobe - Deadmau5(long with no vocals but its one of if not the most iconic edm song) Steal Your Heart - BRKLYN(Culture Code Remix) Worlds Apart - Seven Lions Sideways - Illenium Drive - Glades(Mt. Eden Remix) Gold - Koven Flatline - Blanke and if you don’t like it you probably wont like much of what id recommend but if you do i can make a condensed list that would still be long, its decent sized rabbit hole to delve into.

Check out Bass Clef or Burial if you think Dubstep is "the screamo of EDM"...

@@Vrailly im not saying all dubstep is too hordcore for the average person to enjoy, just saying most of it is, there are definitely some dubstep songs i like, if done right i can even enjoy a dubstep song over a melodic edm song, some of my early favorites were dubstep remixes. Will check those out though.
@Vrailly
@Vrailly 2 жыл бұрын
@@judaychop I'm honestly not having a go at you, just that a lot of peoples' perspective of Dubstep has been tainted by the "skrillex era" of Dubstep, early Dubstep was some of the most innovative and original sounding electronic music going at the time. Peace.
@jakew7982
@jakew7982 2 жыл бұрын
Please research what dubstep is before you make such comments on a public forum. I bet you have only listened to post-2010 ‘dubstep’ made in America. Many genres that have since been defined, were labelled dubstep back in the day. All you need to do is listen to some dubstep from 2006-2009 to understand this. Burial is a good jump off point, and then anything by Skream.

If you could have been there ! The SNL skit inspired a national dance. Two guys “pinballing” a broad !! LOL! When it was played at the club everyone would take turns doing the “pinball” move. It was so hilarious. Got to keep moving your head to the right !!

I can't hear this song without thinking a great scene on TV from My So-Called Life where the character Ricky takes Delia out on the dance floor and goes off. His character changes after this moment like he just reinvented himself.

This song was the summer hit of 1993, I think people born in late 70s were the ones in the right age at that time to enjoy this masterpiece played anytime anywhere for months
