In this video we rank all of the bosses and mini-bosses in Hades minus the barge of death since I think that doesn’t really count. Most of these are based off of basically zero heat except for some Extreme Measures entries. A few tips and tricks for players looking for advice as well!

Charon is the most interesting for sure. Maaaaaan it us such a wasted opportunity that we cannot get an ability that tells us beforehand if Charon has the sack of gold ready, back down in Tartarus already. I encountered that sack down there only once and had a very good fight against him. Won - and could enjoy reduced price for the rest of the entire run. That felt so cool I enjoyed it more as anything else on that run.

Didn't even know until recently that there is a third phase Hades. Extreme Measures is one of the punishment options I use the least. Might start training for that a bit more. The music slaps and it looks like a lot of fun, albeit messy if you lose focus.

If you want to go for higher heat bounties EM is almost mandatory. It's 10 free heat, and it only affects 4 rooms in an entire run. Having said this, those boss fights are brutal, but it's a matter of practicing. I used to backup Hades' save folder before EM4 Hades just to practice without the pressure of losing an entire run because of inexperience.

@@matteobertotti I used to think the same, "it is free 10 heat". However if you are going for 20+ heat with foes having more health, dmg or even attack speed (which all applies for bosses), do you really wanna amplify the hardest fight in the game as well? I think not, I would only go for EM3 and let go of that 4 heat

@@gaborolaszi5062 Still, I strongly suggest never taking EM3 off. You can make a point about not having EM4 on though, as that fight is really, really brutal. Imo, I fear +40% spd more than EM4 Hades (I ALWAYS stay at 20%). However, my suggestion regarding EM4 is still just to practice . Practice, practice. There's no shame in backing up the save files just to git gud doing it again and again, without spending half an hour just for reaching him everytime. That's what I used to do myself, and since then I'm way more confident during the boss fight.

Good video, but it does feel very strange to count all three furies in one entry when they play so differently and have such different power levels. I always have a totally different strategy and playstyle in mind when I face Alecto compared to Tisiphone, and while Alecto is often a death defiance, I've never died once to Megaera after my first run clear. The Bone Hydra's colors also make each one feel like a different fight since you have to deal with very different obstacles, although this is to much lower an extent than the furies. Really solid editing, scriptwriting, and pacing, though. This deserves a lot more attention than it's getting. EDIT: This may be a personal thing (or, more likely, telling of the run's current build) but I've died at least two to three times as much to the Champions as I have to Hades.

Perhaps my hundreds of hours of speed runs have blended the furies and hydra heads together in my brain haha. Thank you for the kind words! I’ve certainly died more to Hades but I have had similar from other people about the heroes

The main problem with the champions for me is Theseus’ dumbass shield blocking everything except for what the feels like 10 degrees of his back. Most of my time is spent dashing around Theseus trying to hit him while Asterius smacks the shit out of my

I searched this video because I needed to know if more people were talking about how hard Charon was lol. Nothing could have prepared me for my first encounter with this absolute maniac. I'm pretty new to playing so I haven't done any of the crazy high heats yet, but I've fought Charon like 5 times and only one once I think lol

I think Tartarus Charon is still harder than EM4 Hades, the dialog of Nyx and Thanatos after fighting Charon are great too, a testament of his might lol

Lol yeah honestly I think it comes down to when you fight him. Doing it in tartarus may very well be harder, but he isn’t so bad if you find him in elysium, whereas Hades is consistently at the end lol

Out of all the bosses I love to beat Theseus and the bull of Minos ... It's really fun to play with them .... It feels like Roasting a bestfriend who's a big mouth and another friend who is fed up of his talks but wants to take his side nonetheless 😅😂😂

The Satyr sack has vermin in it. I am very sure one of the parentheses says that it's filled with vermin. Edit: Looked on the wiki: Cerberus fed (The Sack contains vermin)

hey, you showed up in my recommended! hoping the algorithm gods are gonna blow your channel up soon! i haven't even been watching hades content recently! but oh, do i love it. your list is very skewed compared to mine, actually! i shamelessly play with god mode at its 80% cap, so most bosses hardly give me trouble these days. the furies (with EM) are trivial, and lernie is just a fun hack-and-slash all around. however, the megagorgon and satyrs are STILL evil. i summon thanatos to blast them when i can, and i like having rupture under my belt. i'm very bad at dodging due to dexterity issues, so these bosses/enemies are a bitch even when i'm basically a huge tank. thank god the wretched sneak is in tartarus, if it had a stix counterpart i'd be dead where i stood! hades (the boss) still gets me sometimes when i've cranked the heat too high, as punishment for my hubris. love it! edit: totally forgot about charon, he's whooped my ass enough that i just don't even consider it anymore lmao

Well truly I’ve been blessed on this day for the algorithm to send me your way! Haha That’s interesting I hadn’t considered how god mode might change the order of things! I find the meg keepsake helps trivialize a lot of the mini boss encounters once you get a handle on aiming it, I like thanatos’ as well but I’ve definitely missed it a few times since it is a bit slow 😂 Yeah Charon is no push over! I definitely recommend fighting him in Tartarus or even Elysium for a better chance at beating him!

Really good list! I might’ve switched out A&T (Extreme Measures) with Lernie (Extreme Measures), but I can still understand how you placed them. Great job with the video! Easy sub 👏👍👏👍 Also, although Charon is a fun and challenging (at times) boss fight, I don’t like how random and sudden his fights can be. Like you said, you could fight him early with very few low lvl boons, or late, stacked with highly upgraded boons, so sometimes it feels like it’s taking forever to beat him or it’s too easy/quick. When I’m fighting him in that sweet spot, it definitely earns Top 5. And I would like to see an update with an Extreme Measure for Charon as well.

Yeah I think those extreme measures fights are pretty close, maybe I just play against EM Lernie more and so was skewed that way haha, an extreme measures Charon would definitely be interesting! Thanks for the support!

I honestly thought that Charon battle was the hardest (still it's easier with Aegis, I love using Chaos shield). And then EM4 Hades decided to make an appearance, slaming me with his spin attack right into the Styx in the very beginning of the third phase. At the very least, I had very metal ending to that particular bs.

The Lernie that summons adds is the hardest one for me. Because the adds are better at fighting than Lernie is. The wave projectile ones generally don’t hit me because I play a cowardly style. :)

@@UltravioletArts I’ve had more luck since I started focusing on DPS more. And in the final phase I just try to kill Lernie before his 3-egg launch can do anything. But egg throwing Lernie has still used more of my death defiance and has more outright kills on me than any other Lernie. My new least favorite is teleporting giant butterfly ball. I’ve turned off that heat option for now.

I beat Theseus and Asterius on the first try with really expecting to. Similarly I just yoloed into Charon because I wanted his loyalty card and wasn't too confident in the run anyway but managed to win on the first try regardless.

Just found this video yesterday, and I really like it! Well made, concise, and fairly sensible picks :p. I completed the game for the first time a couple weeks back and with about 50 hours in it I'd think I'm no longer a complete noob. With that put aside, I'd like to follow up an earlier comment which suggests ranking the Fury sisters separately - for me, Megaera was really hard at the beginning (to the point where i turned on god mode out of frustration) so considering how early in the game she comes I think she might be pushing top 10, Tisiphone under Lernie, but Alecto is a straight up piece of venom-spewing shit. She needs to be in the top 10 simply because of how early in a run she shows up. Charon is a really hard boss and I used up two of my death defiances in the only time I've fought him till date (haven't triggered that battle again). Theseus and Asterius too were significant roadblocks to me as a newer player and I feel that they might merit a higher rating simply off difficulty (but again I can't fault the EM boss rankings). Overall, well made and enjoyable watch! And yes, I also lost my first ever run to the firebombers :p

Good points for sure! I definitely came at this list from more of an end game perspective, but you’re definitely right that Alecto is the toughest of the 3 haha. For me they are still close enough to group together but separating them would still be valid. Thanks for watching!

Getting to the end game where you have all the mirror upgrades, maxed out weapons, keepsakes and companions is a big part of it. It makes a huge difference. But also hundreds of hours doing speedruns and refining boon builds and mechanics helps haha

07:50 Eh? No way. I found standard Theseus + Asterius way harder than standard Hades. Either Hades needs to be dropped from number 3 all the way down or those two have to go up.

That’s fair everyone has different thoughts on this kind if thing. I at least find that in the late game the heroes go down in 10-20 seconds whereas hades can still eat up a death defiance or two

Well this is my just opinion of course, but I think em3 Theseus is actually easier than the normal, so the only challenge is Asterius, who I find more predictable than the Hydras in their small lava filled stage. But if you have an easier time with it that's cool!

@@O_of_N After clearing the game you should be able to start giving ambrosia to Hades, not sure if you just need 10 clears or the full epilogue finished. But by the time his relationship is maxed out in the codex you should have Extreme Measures 4 as an option

@@UltravioletArts I didn't have any relationship points with Hades, EM4 still showed up after 10 clears. So, it most likely depends on clears and House renovation.
