I swore it was broke too until I took the motor off and saw everything's fine. Bro it's like new Lol! Must of been a grain of sand locking up the motor pinion and spur. Crazy! Great news 😎🤘

Honestly, I have more fun ripping around my brushed WLtoys that I've upgraded a bit than I do with any of my others. Cheap RCs are fun.

Hbx ftw 😁, i actually still havent bought this one yet, most videos this model breaks or has drivetrain issues, its actually a re-design of the hbx survivor, used 18650 "vape" batteries. I look forward to the hbx 2995/flyhal fc610 review, i have several now and theyre amazing, i run my hbx stuff more than my large scale rc's anymore. Great vids appreciate the honesty 😁

I also run ours with slightly bigger tyres but using stock esc (occasionally on 3S which I don’t recommend) and with the surpass 14t pinion upgrade. 2S gives a nice solid 30mph. 3s is an uncontrollable flippy mess at nearer 40mph. But my drivetrain now also makes the same noise as yours . Perfectly fine when the wheels aren’t contacting the ground but that nasty grind on every take off. Replaced the diff and properly greased and filled the new one as they come poorly packed. It wasn’t the diff. Replaced the pinion as that was missing a tooth. Still not fixed it. I’m stumped. It’s a real shame as it’s a terrific bargain and an incredibly durable skatepark basher

I think the diff needs to be shimmed. I'm gonna try and find some shims to fit it to prevent diff slipping.

@@heavymetalrc7520 It definitely sounds like a slipping of some sort, somewhere. I thought it might be the pinion slipping on the spur gear but Im not so sure now. Cant wait to hear what you find out as the noise is annoying the xxxt out of me and i want to give the car to my nephew as a gift but wont while its doing this. The diffs are single units with the bearings and outdrive cups "built-in" which doesnt help.

@@patmarcus172 check the drive shaft gears located at the ends of the drive shaft (meshes with the differentials) they are screwed in with a tiny screw that can back out and cause the drive shaft gear to spin. This happened to my 901a a number of times and makes the same sound as a stripped diff ring.

I've learned much from you apparently. I did most the same upgrades to mine as well minus the ESC. Looking forward to seeing if you got the same Duratrax tires I put on mine. Those Hosim/XLF tires are complete doodoo.

@@heavymetalrc7520 I figured that was a gear mesh issue. I put Duratrax Picket ST on mine and they're almost too sticky. Before I put hub extenders on, it spent most the time on 2 wheels in turns.

I agree. I had them on my LC Racing EMBT and the hexes centres sometimes wouldn’t even last a pack on 2S.

Happy 4th of July, dude! Let's Go, Brandon! I bet they don't shim the diff from the factory. I would shim them and get them as tight as possible. I shim the diffs in all my RC cars when I take them out of the box. That thing is wicked.
