I love how much you talk about the victims lives. it’s nice to hear things like how he loved peanut butter and mowing the lawn. it helps humanize them even more as sometimes watching true crime videos all the time can make it seem like the people are just characters. he was a real person who deserves to be remembered lovingly, may he rest peacefully

i appreciate hearing how these people were human. sometimes we make those who have passed away seem like saints. we only remember the best of them. personally i like hearing the stories of them messing up, or their struggles as well as their highs. It makes them human & easier to relate to. when we make them out to be "saints" they feel further away & idk, almost makes the distance greater. "that's not what happened" is a good book that draws this idea out well.

Ameen You bringing this to light has I’m sure brought several Muslims to pray for him which is so important for a Muslim (To have another Muslim pray for you after you’ve passed away). Thank you so much! He sounded like such a wonderful person. After being so kind to this woman, she still oppressed him tremendously and then murdered him. What an awful woman!!!! This story is incredibly sad. How rare it is to even find a person like Ejaz, so grounded and faithful to his core. Ultimately, and I hate to say it because we need more people to be like Ejaz, but he was entirely too nice. Not even in a way of blaming him for what happened, never that. But when Leah showed how nasty she really was, and how she’d always sort of been this person who was terrible to the people she should have been best to- he still tried his best to give her a leg up. Even with no particular obligation to it, and she had/ continued to hurt him. Personally, I would have for sure snapped (not murder but I definitely would have made she sure couldn’t get close to me). This video really highlights a childlike innocence in his desire to give the world into a better place. While still being a man who can provide, nurture & guide a family with grace. Islam is such a beautiful religion and Ejaz stood firmly with it. It is such a shame that/how he passed. And to have left behind a beautiful and caring family, that loved him and understood him deeply regardless of the separation. I’m glad he could have that, at least, since he didn’t seem as is his life was lived in pursuit of material or professional success. Many of us dream of having a spirit like Ejaz.

My brother was a victim of abuse for 16 long years. So many times it was my brother being removed from his own house because the police automatically think men are the abusers. Even when my brother had witnesses the officers didn’t believe that my brother was the actual victim. Not a mark, bruises,or broken hair strands on his exes head. He had bruises, scratches so deep that blood was dripping from them, and hand print bruises around his neck but hillbilly authorities down southeast never think men are victims. That is not a prayer for the departed. "Innalillah wa inna ilaihi rajioon" means " Indeed, we belong to Allah and we will have to return to Him.” Muslims use these words when unfortunate things happen as a reminder to self and those who hear us say it, that we do not control everything and we will all return to our Creator in the end.
