CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Claude (John Savage) walks through the park watching the hippies dance and sing "Aquarius."
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Milos Forman's adaptation of the tribal rock musical Hair stars John Savage as Claude, a quiet young man from the Midwest who becomes friendly with a group of New York hippies on his way to begin basic training in the military. The repressed Claude is quite taken with Berger (Treat Williams) and the group of freedom seekers who reside in Central Park. The group encourages Claude to go after a debutante named Sheila (Beverly D'Angelo). Legendary choreographer Twyla Tharp masterminded the dances, which attempt to flow from the natural settings of the film. The film includes most of the more famous songs from the original play, including "Donna," "Aquarius," "Easy to Be Hard," "Let the Sunshine In," "Good Morning Starshine," and the title number.
CREDITS:
TM & © MGM (1979)
Cast: John Savage, Treat Williams, Beverly D'Angelo, Ren Woods
Director: Milos Forman
Producers: Michael Butler, Robert Greenhut, Lester Persky
Screenwriters: Gerome Ragni, James Rado, Michael Weller

It might sound weird, but I always thought this scene in the movie paints the hippies as almost like Elves. The singer is made as and has the aura of some Galadriel-esque woodland Queen, the way the dancers move with the music through the trees and the way two of them seem to bewitch the horses of the policemen through their dancing, it all seem s very magical.

You are correct , I viewed this as a teenager in the 70s and this reminds me of the elves of Lord of the rings. This film sings peace. That is what all people want. As I do. My thinking is it this. Humans are insane, absolutely insane. Who in the F would test nuclear weapons not only into the atmosphere but underground as well. In my opinion as a veteran this is ten times stupid.

1970's was a great time to be a teenager I know because I was born in 1960. It seemed like everything was totally free to express yourself and no one could stop you from it. Maybe that's why I am so opened minded to my kids and my nieces and nephews ask me when I will grow up. I don't feel like I am 60 because when I hear this type of music it just takes me back to my teen years.

This song ended up being prophetic. At one minute after midnight London time (aka Greenwich Mean Time) on Valentine's Day (Feb. 14) of 2009, the moon was in the 7th house (in Libra) and Jupiter was conjunct with Mars in the sign of...Aquarius. That was the dawning of the Age of Aquarius, and most people missed it.

@@theigor27 Astrologers wrote a lot about this Great Conjunction, also astronomers talked about this, using the term Great Conjunction and Christmas Star. You can google this and find a lot. The reason we got thought all of this mess this year is because we are getting ready to enter the new ear of Aquarius, better world full of love and empathy. Before rainbow there is storm. We still have to work a lot to make world better place but I believe we can. Be blessed 💙

O trabalho do cameraman nesse filme e fantástico.Para os padrões da época enquadrar os atores em diagonal e escalar é incrível.
