I MUST say Vince did an amazing job. Some how he he was able to convey as much emotion as Carrie in his playing. Just amazing talent. And Carrie.....she was sick that night. What a pro! Can you imagine how much better imagine if it could have maybe been any better?

Thank you for not stopping or commenting during this performance. I happened to have been working on this and during the first time in rehearsal Carrie and Vince barely got all the way though it. I wept and it hard for me to believe you didn't. Listen to her sing "Jesus Take the Wheel" but listen to the words and DO NOT STOP TO COMMENT UNTIL IT'S OVER.

Loved seeing you toward the end-- "It's already high!" Carrie has talked about this performance and said she has no memory of finishing the last few notes of the song-- something took over and her voice just flowed out.

Hey Kathy here - just found your channel and for it to be this song, is amazing. Carrie is one of the greatest singers to ever come out of American Idol, along with Kelly Clarkson. Then you add Vince Gill, who is one of the most requested county artists asked to do Collab's with. And man can he make that guitar sing. He is just as amazing in his own right. And I sat here waiting for the key change to happen to see your reaction and it was what I expected. Then, the closing verse and your face. Standing ovation before she was even finished with the song! Then the last note!! The smile on your face just said it all. Thanks for your reaction. You need to check out Carrie featuring Ludacris, singing Champion. It is amazing.

Loved the reaction, and thanks for sharing the video. Only minor issue is: Calling Vince just a "A great musician.".....Vince is probably in the top 20 country music artists of all time. Multi-male vocalist of the year winner and has even won a few entertainer of the year awards. He is a legend and one of the most integral pieces to holding quality in the country music genre all together. New artists and bands world-wide would kill for his services.

A few observations on this: -Carrie apparently said in an interview after this that she doesn’t remember anything after Vince’s guitar solo and that the Holy Spirit took over at that point. -This was the first time Carrie’s peers had heard her full vocal power. -At the end after it was done, Reba McEntire’s face to me says “the genre is in good hands.” Then we get a shot of Jennifer Nettles saying “what a voice!” If you’ve ever heard Jennifer sing you know that hers is the praise of the praiseworthy And finally: Carrie Underwood could sing a menu and give the whole restaurant goosebumps.

They were honoring her. All the people she grew up wanting to be like. They all sang her songs to her. Carrie and her grandma used to always watch Grand Ol Opry together . When she was finally invited to the Opry herself she took her grandma and sang this song which was her grandmas favorite. Very fitting that she sang it that night.

BRUDDAH SAM! Hope all is well my friend! When she says about "opening the flood gates" at the beginning of this video she was responding to what Vince Gill had just said about her....I believe. I have not been able to find the entire video. Will post the link if I ever do. I remember the first time I saw this. One of my friends on Facebook posted "Carrie brought the CMA's to CHURCH tonight!" I of course had to find the video. I'd say this is the best live performance of this song I have ever seen and Home Free has BY FAR the best music video of it! (Was so excited when I saw your reaction to it pop up!) Keep up the good work! I know a lot of people need your positive and encouraging reviews in their life! LADDA BRUDDAH!

I move for Carrie to collaborate with Matt Smith (Theocracy) .. I want to see Smith adapt "I Am" for Underwood as a duet! If one is curious as to the talent Smith has to write for "the singer" then check out Project Aegis .. As powerful as "I Am" is with just Smith alone .. Imagine it with Underwood as a duet!

First time viewer. Great reaction, man. You're editing and video quality is pretty good too. "Go Rest High On That Mountain" is a great song by Vince Gill. He wrote it about his brother that passed years ago.

What animating spirit could possibly cause the musical expression of what we've just watched? Do we attribute it solely to the talents of Ms. Underwood---talents which are, needless to say, exceptional in their own right and worthy of great respect---or is there something more at play here? Something metaphysical, something transcendent, perhaps even something Divine? An answer to that question has comfortably seated itself in my own spirit, and I can see from many comments posted here that there are many other viewers of this video who've had a reaction similar to my own.
