When I worked at Sally’s, I C O N S I S T E N T L Y had to convince young girls not to bleach their hair and what to do/what to use not to ruin their hair. Consequently, I always had to console the girls who came back after using a TUB of bleach on box color and frying their hair. Some people really don’t Listen, they have to fail and learn 🤣

Story time: This one time in elementary my music teacher was teaching us how string instruments make sound. She said that for instruments like violins you use horse hair in the bow and put resin on the hair to make it make noise on the string. She said that it doesnt matter what type of hair you use and you can use human hair. She asked someone to give her a hair so she could make an example. This one girl LITERALLY pulled out a handful CHUNK of hair from her scalp. It was the scariest thing from my childhood. 😅

I had a BAD bleaching experience. My hair was beautiful, brown and waist length. Tried to bleach it (not box dye) after I washed it out, my hair just started snapping an falling out in broken CHUNKS. 300$ and 8hrs later at a salon, my waist length hair was now a pixie cut. Lesson LEARNED!! Always go to a pro. Second lesson learned, I LOVE short hair and still have it short, not pixie cut, but a chin length Bob :)

Wish I knew about Brad Mondo back in the day when I was bleaching, dying, using heat tools, and cutting my own hair. However, I'm happy with how my hair is now because I buzzed off all of my hair last year and it's been a year and three months and it's finally healthy, thick, and my natural hair color and I love it. I plan on growing it super long. I take good care of my hair. It's to my shoulders and very wavy. I'm never dying, bleaching, using heat tools, or cutting my own hair ever again. But I wish my teenage self would've taken better care of my hair. 😅

BRAD, THERE'S A SUCH THING AS "AMMONIA FREE" BOX DYE! (such as Revlon Colorsilk, etc) I go to a hairdresser to get my long hair trimmed twice a yr & they always think my box-dyed "blue black" hair is natural cuz its so shiny & healthy. I cringe every time u say that box dye has ammonia. 🙈 A lot of em don't anymore. Thats prob y ur so shocked ppl are actually dying their hair just fine without a professional. I know because teenage me messed up my own hair by bleaching it myself now I am older and wiser and and always spend $160-200 on my hair to get it pretty blonde and a nice haircut.
