Shaving My Head 1yr Post-Hair Transplant 😮

1 Year ago I had my 4th Hair Transplant surgery. It was an FUE surgery done by Dr. Daniel McGrath in Austin, TX. Today I'm shaving my head to see how it all turned out up close.
I seek to empower people who are struggling with hair loss to to make a positive step and take control of their hair loss whether that's with the best preventative treatments available, concealers, scalp micro pigmentation, hair systems, shaving their head, or if they are the right kind of candidate and financially able then hair transplant. Having a realistic hair plan in terms of the preventative hair loss treatments you will use and stick to, the type of surgery you choose to start with, and your goals looks wise will lead to a much higher chance of successful result. Hopefully this video will help set you on a healthy path.

Kudos for achieving one of the best hair transplant results. Everything looks damn natural. I believe had you gone the FUE route in the first session itself, you'd not have been able to cover up literally your entire head! Your surgeon did an amazing job! And ofcourse the 💵 helps!

looks great man. That buzzcut look is actually what I want. I need my hairline restored to pull it off. I have an smp hairline but the part where the hair has receded to nothing the skin is smooth. Luckily the the hair on my crown that is thin still grows so the top of the head still feels like there’s hair there. Let me tell you women run their hand over my head all the time having that texture up there gives me some comfort.

It looks amazing - im 35 and thinning a bit on the forelock to one side - I’ve been thinking about a HT for a while as im getting sad about it - your hair result would be a goal for me - perfect hairline man

There is no better way to accept each other as such. Hair loss must be accepted as an evolution in your life, and therefore, a new stage. Wearing hair is really something artificial, with little personality, that is, respecting all the ideals of each human being. I encourage everyone to shave and feel the pleasure of shaving, it's wonderful. Cheers

Wow. Crazy results from the transplants. I tried FUT and FUE, 2 different Drs and all were bad results. I ended up getting SMP and and now shave my head.. I got crappy results with the 3 Procedures. Not doing it again.

Can you tell any difference between the transplanted area Vs the rest of the head? Ie is the texture of the skin more rough or red there? Or is the different hair density noticeable?

the skin, no difference, the hair just a little bit thinner than the not transplanted areas, but not very obvious.

In your experience how was growing long hair after FUE? I wear my hair long passed my shoulders. I want to get an FUE procedure but I am worried that the back of head would look “thinner”

How have you had so many transplants? Where are they getting the hair from? I would think the back would look thinner if thats where they are mainly pulling from. Did you get from your beard as well? I juat had my first transplant 4800 gratfts, this week

I quit all hair loss medicine, i just didnt feel myself and they didnt stop my hair loss. Not topical minoxidil, not oral minoxidil, not finasteride, not dutasteride. I may have had some nutritional issues i wasnt aware of going on too who knows but i just stopped and im glad. No sense in taking them and losing hair it defeats the purpose

How many transplants have you had, would this be the 5th? As I understand there’s only about 8k grafts that we have to extract but with the number of transplants you’ve had it would appear that you have had over those 8

That’s impressive. I heard it wasn’t possible to have that many grafts extracted from the donor and looking at the back of your head before you shaved it, it looks crazy full as if you never touched it. Also I noticed that your FUE surgeries are hardly noticeable like others that get fue done. I’m getting fue soon and hope my donor looks this good

Hey Dave have you had smp done on your scalp in the past. Honestly Dave, I personally can't handle the fut scars it's just something that is a terrible reminder if your Transplant is not successful.

@@DRIXER999 I think personally for myself, I would feel this is Heavy surgery just to have hair on the top of your head. Fue is more scars, but definitely doesn't stick out as much. I know fut is the Gold standard in getting more hair but you have to think longterm if the transplant fails and they do.

He is 31 now. He started losing his hair around 27 he said. He got on the combo therapy pill soon afterward though and gained almost everything back.

@@skfamemonsterI'm taking fin and Minoxidil orally for years and no side effects. Less than 1 percent have bad side effects and those are the ones that complain a lot. It can also be in their head. If you think it will affect you your brain may trick you. I started to take it right before going to sleep so I would forget about it and not be worrying

I also take medication. Everyone should that gets a hair transplant. It's useless for most people to have a transplant surgery without taking medication indefinitely.

Please David do not attemp to wear your hair in a man bun. Now you know after 4 surgical procedures how important each hair shaft is. So even going with a relaxed hairstyle like a messy man bun will not mean that you will be less likely to pull hairs and if you decide that man bun is your everyday - go to hairstyle eventually you will end up with traction alopecia. @@GetLocklab all that people say about bald men (and also those who grow a beard) that look 10 or 20 years older is a MYTH. They should compare pics in their 20s, 30s 40s and 50s and will see. Hair has nothing to do to with looking older or younger.
