I am really loving your hairspray journey! It has helped me tremendously! Currently I’m using the Freeze IT, and it has worked so well for me! I only wash my hair a couple times a week and the Freeze IT (along with the Cat Walk Root Boost, a little bit of Mousse, and the Living Proof styling cream) actually keep it so that when I wake up in the morning I can just run a brush through it and then spray to hold in place! Easiest style I’ve ever had! And I have to thank you because you talked me into changing to the pixie! Bless you! ❤️🙏🏻

Wow This was quite a testing of hairspray. It was neat seeing the comparison amazing how the generic won over the name brand. Hairsprays can really fool you. I still like the IT ORIGINAL FREEZE HAIR SPRAY (gold can) Also a close second is the IT’S A 10 MIRACLE SUPER HOLD FINISHING HAIR SPRAY PLUS KERATIN. both of these are winners to me. With all your testing it’s amazing how your finished look turned out 👍. Anxious to hear about your top 5 favorites in an upcoming video. 💕🌸💕🌺

I appreciate videos like this to show how products work and to introduce new products I may not be aware of. I wanted to comment here to possibly help anyone who has hair like mine. I have baby fine hair, meaning an individual strand is barely felt between your fingers. This is different from thin hair. It’s soft and static prone if I don’t use enough conditioner but also weighed down easily if I use too much conditioner. I also have to use very fine mist hairspray to hold it. Most hairspray will weigh down my hair or make it stick together in weird ways. Kenra 25 was made for my hair type, it holds my hair so perfectly without weighing it down at all. It also allows my hair to still have some shine and movement. I tried the generic used here and it didn’t work for me at all. I don’t like having to pay so much for Kenra 25 but I can usually find a deal online for 2-3 cans.

I love Kenra 25, but only as a working spray. I also use Kenra 26 which for me has a lot more hold than the 25, yet is still " brushable" the next day. I add either Tigi Masterpiece last for stronger hold, or Tigi Hardhead for an "updo". It takes an aresenal over here.....☺️🤗

Try the 26! From an Aussie fanatic, I’m telling you- it’s WAY better! The 26 holds sooo strong, yet at the end of the night, it brushes right out! It’s seriously amazing. I’ve been looking for a dupe for it because it is so expensive, but sadly, have not found one yet…

Per one of your previous test videos, I bought a small Chi helmet head extra firm and took it on vacation to Ireland. My stick straight fine hair held up all day even by the ocean. Awesome stuff.

Sharalee….I just gave the Kenra 30 another chance today. Still not impressed. Nothing is the same hold as the old version of Aussie. However after watching this….I think I’m going to give the Generic a try for sure! I’ve been waiting for this video….and like you; I think I’m starting to narrow down what I may stick with…..but I’m always still looking to try what might work even better. The Kenra 25 works great so you can move the hair around even after it’s styled. I love it for shoulder length hair. I think it’s more of a styling product not a finishing spray.

Yes, I agree...seems like most of the dedicated Kenra fans are those with longer hair that want flexibility😘 I had many tell me it would be my replacement for the Aussie Instant Freeze...definitely not 😆

I am so glad you did this video! I have used the Kenra 25 for years and it is my favorite, however the price on it is getting ridiculous. As soon as I use what I already have of my Kenra I am going to try the generic. I am also very sensitive to smells, I know you said the texture spray smells different in the generic, but what about the smell of the generic hairspray compared to Kenra 25? Your makeup up looks beautiful, I hope you have a video coming up on that look!

The generic Kenra is the best hold that I can find since they’ve all changed the formulas. Seems they took out some cancer causing ingredient out of these sprays so they don’t hold as well. What doesn’t cause cancer these days?? So frustrating that they can’t make a product that will hold hair.

Kenra 26 holds better than the 25 … 25 is more of a working spray vs. holding spray. For me, the 30 never worked right at all, lol. Can’t wait to hear your #1! And yes … the combo of your wax and spray is Important too. Your videos like this are so fun … “science experiments” for Pixie Girls! ❤❤

Thanks for all your research to find a replacement for the Aussie Instant Freeze. So disappointed with the formula change. I understand that the formula of Bed head Hard Head has changed since you did your review of it. I am looking forward to what you find is most like Aussie I F. I have very fine, thin hair & need something to hold my 10 hairs in place😉😉 so looking forward to your top that most works like the Aussie. Thanks for all of your time & research!

It looks like you are not directing the spray 25 volume in the right place on each piece it is going to the left of the piece you are holding up. or it is missing the hair altogether. I am definitely pro Kenra 25 myself.

Have you used the catwalk in the purple can yet? Thats all i can find and think it's different from the blue can. Definitely has a different smell and i think my hair feels a little gritty. Just wondered if you had heard anything on it.

The purple can is the one I've used for a couple of years now. I do remember feeling like the formula was different than the blue can, but now I love it just as much. Try using a little less of the purple can and see if that changes how it feels in the hair. 😘

Hair spray is so hard to buy with how they keep changing formulas. The less expensive brands either have so much water that they take out all volume or they stay wet for too long. Even my beloved Tresemme now has a wetter formula.

I’ve always had short hair. I just don’t want to spend do much time making it look perfect. Friday is my haircut has color. I’m platinum on top and my darker natural color on the undercut. I sure wish I had your stylist. I’m up here in Washington State. My old stylist fired me as s client. Cause he totally made a mess of my color and I finally spoke up. I’ve been very devastated and not saying too much too my new stylist. Ugh beauty is hard❤️. Thank you for your response

Sharalee, have you ever tried the wax by Moroccanoil Texture Clay or the Oribe dry texturizing spray? I really like the clay reminds me a little bit of the Enjoy Dry Wax. Does the L'Oreal have a gloss for darker hair. I do have highlights . Your hair always looks great no matter what!

I believe I tried the Moroccanoil Clay a few years ago but can't recall my thoughts on it😆 I haven't tried the Oribe...will have to look into that! L'Oreal Le Gloss does have several options for darker hair...I think Ulta has the best selection on their website.
