It's hard to believe that nearly 30 years have gone by since John Waters first brought this Cinderella love letter to Baltimore to the screen! Hairspray isn't one of my favorite things in the world but I respect it's story and resonance. I actually prefer the stage version despite it being equally good as the two movie versions.

The original movie is out there. There are several songs from the movie that are not on the CD soundtrack.

Completely agree: the remake is kinda Hollywood shit even if it is better that Hollywood usual shit. But nothing comparable to JW´s style.
