I have travelled the world and this is the most AMAZING trip I ever took!
Shiva and I went to Haiti to film the documentary Diaspora Blues.
Read about it below and come see why Cap-Haitian, Haiti was so incredible.
"Diaspora Blues” follows the story of Shiva as she embarks on a quest to rediscover her roots and establish a connection with her absentee father in Haiti. Born in Haiti and raised in the United States, Shiva represents the countless individuals caught between two worlds, yearning for a deeper understanding of their cultural heritage. This documentary sheds a light on the experiences of the Haitian diaspora and their struggle to reconnect with their homeland. By capturing Shiva’s personal journey, we delve into the complexities of identity and the universal human desire for connection and self-discovery.

I live here, seven years now,a non Haitian. I love this place but I've learned that it won't get better. The thing is,what this country needs to "rise" is what other countries do on a regular basis. However...most people get offended when you try and explain certain things to them.

It's a large population of Jamaicans living in Haiti. They mostly are found in the Southern Department cities such as Saint Louis, Saint Georges, and Ile a Vache. Also, Koffee wrote her hit song "Toast" in 2018 while visiting Haiti for the first time. I'm Haitian American and I've lived in Jamaica for 4 years on and off. It's always a pleasure when Haitians and Jamaicans unite. ❤

Good country. My Dad Haitian my mom from Belgium 🇧🇪 I born in 🇺🇸. The thing is, the class of people that went to school that become entrepreneurs, director, doctors , politicians. All stand against their own population let them use by the rich people. And sent all their money to the foreign country. And the rich don't build factory to create job. And the train police against the poor people. Instead serve and protect. That's the reason always waiting for a Dessaline to come back. Adye Ayiti.

It's amazing how, within just the first few minutes of this documentary, you can already feel how you're naturally connected to home, Haiti 🇭🇹. We have a say in haitian creole, that mean so much to us, that the elderly love to say, which is "Lakay se lakay", that translate in english as " home is home", meaning that no matter where you go, you will always feel comfortable no where else but home. May this documentary makes all the Haitians feels or remind of home.

I’m Haitian and have never been to Haiti. I’ve only ever heard positive things about Haiti’s natural beauty from many people who were are not Haitian, my African American professor, random white people who have NGO family living there and a swore they will never leave haiti even in the midst of election 🗳️ chaos because life was so good, and a Jamaican. I’ve mostly heard negative things about Haiti from our own people.

It’s important to know that no country in this world are 100% beautiful , perfect At the other hand, no there’s no country in this world that are 100% bad ( Except war situations ). Just to say that Haiti 🇭🇹 is very rich gorgeous and passionate history. If it is well leaded by the politicians, it gonna be the most beautiful destination in the Caribbean. There’s not really 4 seasons … It’s always good to leave with this tropical weather in Haiti . Some years, from January to December you may go to the beach without fearing cold 🏖️. It gonna be cold just at night . There’s no tornado 🌪️, hurricane 🌀, volcanic disaster 🌋 , snow disasters, and so on, as frequently as some other countries are fighting with. Haiti is not only a country with insecurity, violence, and many other things that some people wanna make the international think. Haiti can be also a little paradise ✨🤌✅🏖️ 🇭🇹

I rarely leave comments on videos but this one hits home... I have no idea how I came across your video but the similarities are just crazy. I'm watching from Montreal, left Haiti at 7 and now I'm always going back. I'm just deeply in love 🇭🇹. I'm getting married in Okap too in a couple of days as this is where my mother's side of the family is from and where I'd like to live. Some of the faces in the video seem really familiar.. Anyways, the footages astonishing. I know most of the places but what AirBnb is that from 3:53 to around 5 min. At 6:55 where is that? At 7:42 on the beach, which beach is that also at 8:12 on the road. These places I've never seen yet and I love exploring new parts of my country especially the north and l'Artibonite even though I was born and went to school in Port-Au-Prince. Please give me your contact info so I can ask you something please
