I am a 46-year-old Dominican living in the United States. I remember visiting, along with my family when I was just 10 years old, the area of Juana Mendez and parts of the northern coast of Haiti. I really enjoyed that trip and the kindness we received from you. Nowadays, I see with sadness how Haiti cannot progress because of a handful of politicians and businessmen who only see their own benefits, neglecting the entire Haitian society that deserves to live in prosperity. They deserve to have good healthcare, schools, universities, a strong tourism sector, and be able to welcome people from all over the world as tourists. Laws should be equal for everyone, and that unnecessary violence where gangs have taken over much of Port-au-Prince, killing, raping, and robbing their own people, needs to stop. Haiti is more than that, and united, you are the only ones who can help bring about change in Haiti for the well-being of the majority. I wish you luck and hope that soon you can steer your nation towards a better future. A hug and greetings from the US from this Dominican who wishes you all the best.

In Jamaica we call Tayo Dasheen i think. Then the yams are yellow yam and Taw yam. Its quite interesting how the foods we eat are the same but prepared so differntly. Id love to visit Haiti one day but just scared. For now ill enjoy Haiti through your eyes. Thank you for this experience. ❤

I’ve learned so much more about Haiti just from research and him. And a couple of your vlogs. 😉 Far more beautiful than I’d imagined. I’ll be glad when the war and conflict dies down so I can visit.

I appreciate that you didn't spend too much time on the unfortunate chaos that has been created in Haiti(we know it's not something random). Thank you for showing that people such as yourself and your husband are still going about your average routine. My family lives in Thomassin and are going about their day somewhat in the same manner as you. My stubborn dad is there as a snowbird...la vie continue

You’re very lucky to be able to have someone in your culture love you back and love you well. I live in New York City. Wish I could find one, but I can’t so I date outside of my culture, but I would prefer to have Haitian family and Haitian children

🙏🏾 thanks! Everything on the news is happening in the Port-au-Prince area. But the news labels Port-au-Prince as “Haiti”, so it’s hard for people to understand the rest of Haiti isn’t experiencing what Port-au-Prince is going through.

For a long time there was only one way to get to Okap through Gonaïves & Plaisance. Even though I was born in Mòn Pilbowo, I would hold my breathe until we made it down the mountain😂 Then in recent years they paved the road through Centre Department & now it seems more common to take that road. But you don’t have to be afraid to go through Plaisance cause they cut into the mountain & widen the road so it isn’t scary anymore.

Yes, you just have to pick the right license when leasing it. The cheapest license has the most restrictions. But you’ll see all the details for each license on there.

There have been gangs in Laboule since 2021. Laboule 12 connects to Carrefour so they can come & go easily through there. But they always go from Laboule 12 & up the mountain into Thomassin. They never came to Laboule 10. That’s why I’ve never seen gang activity in person, only on video. Things calmed down after Ti Makak was k!lled. But of course they sent them to make some noise last week. It’s all apart of the game🥴
