Hakeems are one of my favorites mostly because the muzzle break works so well, ive got 3. The rasheed is pretty cool to, its back half is hakeem, front half is SKS i only have one of those. The odd thing to get used to on both is the gas poofing on your forhead with each shot.

The Hakim is a great rifle, but dang if it isn't actively trying to cause harm on either side of the muzzle. I went shooting with a few friends one time, and as we were all getting ready to start the day, a buddy came up close to me to look at targets we'd set up. I asked around if everyone had their ears on so that I could start shooting and got the go ahead, but apparently one of his earplugs wasn't seated right. The blast from the muzzle brake was enough to knock the plug right out of his ear. We were young and dumb, and that was a great lesson to always double check safety items before going live.

@@GreatNorthwestWeaponry I watched the video and really enjoyed it. It answered most of my questions but I still have a few to ask you. I heard this rifle should be used with quality modern ammo, which I intend on doing if I’m able to get the rifle. If I’m shooting modern ammo out of this firearm should I adjust the gas system prior to shooting it? And where can I get the tool required for adjustments. Also, if the gas system is not adjusted correctly could it be dangerous to use? And lastly, at the end of the video you mentioned it was starting to smoke after you shot 10 rounds, so when firing this rifle should I only use 10 rounds then give it a test then come back to it after it’s cooled down? Sorry for so many questions haha. I don’t really know many people who can answer my firearm questions which is why I’m asking you. I’ve never owned a semi automatic surplus before and I’ve been eyeballing this rifle and the gewher 43 since their both currently listed in a local instate auction. They are both incredible rifles with a lots of history backing them. I’m hoping I’m able to pick up one or the other if they sell for a fair price.
